Everton 2014-15

Facepalm followed by airpunch followed by facepalm...
Tasty finish from young Sammy mind

Some lucky goals and a great performance by Howard but a very good result. Could've been a very awkward game.

The third perhaps - though it was still more of a penalty than Borini's was - but the rest of them were well worked, especially the first one which if it had gone straight in would have been rightly lauded as one of the goals of the season. I especially liked their manager saying they were "naive", which cannot have been uttered by too many managers of German sides playing against an English team down the years.

Jagielka is still playing well below par, though. Hopefully Distin will be back soon and him and Stones can continue where they left off last season.

Stones is not a right back. The Distin-Jagielka partnership is probably past its sell-by date. Howard ffs.

the last time our defence was this leaky was in the glorious days of mike walker. depressing really.

There does seem to be an inexplicable lack of confidence with the team at the mo. Going forward we look really bright and positive, but there seems to be an unusual amount of hesitation at the back compared to the sure-footed confidence of the last few seasons.

Maybe it's just something simple like a lack of communication? Against Palace for example. Either Stones or Dizzy should have taken control and hoofed the ball into row Z, instead both them and Tim got themselves in a right muddle. And against Swansea last night, Tim should have screamed at Dizzy to leave that cross as it wasn't posing any real danger.

Silly mistakes at the back, and schoolboy errors in midfield need ironing out pretty damn quick otherwise - and I hate to say it - I can see the mingers across the park giving us a right good spanking on Saturday. And then there's a long trip to Russia to deal with followed by a trip to Manure to follow.

it's good that we will be playing a redshite team that is not working properly. but as we are far from working properly i can see a goal fest, rash challenges and shit for both us and them.

Tomorrow will be 15 years to the day since we last won at Anfield:

Roberto Martínez: Everton can overcome Merseyside derby hoodoo

Hopefully Sturridge will still be out and Sterling knackered after playing 120 midweek, but:

a) we've been here before - RS doing badly, best chance in years...
b) we're also leaking goals left, right and centre

Who will be less shit?

Nice to see you guys posting on your teams thread again. All a bit quiet up until you had a good game in Europe the other night and it was way past full time before any of you found the courage to actually post in the footy forum after your big summer spending spree but at least you're out from under your rocks now.

Are any of you going to the Derby or will you all watch it on XBMC from your Suffolk armchairs?

i won't watch it live. we nearly always play crap when i watch it live. but we also can play crap when i don't watch. this is not helping is it? :D

I'll be watching in my local in Bristol. It's run by a big sweary cunt from Toxteth. He's an RS fan and there's always a load of them in for Liverpool games, and quite a few Blues fans go there too. Always a good friendly atmosphere for derby day.
