    Opening two months looks good:

    August
    11: Wolverhampton (a)
    18: Southampton (h)
    25: Bournemouth (a)
    September
    1: Huddersfield Town (h)
    15: West Ham United (h)
    22: Arsenal (a)
    29: Fulham (h)

New Director of Football, new Manager, some deadwood out of the club. This might be a good season to be an Everton supporter :D

Last season was "A New Hope". Finally some money, all those brilliant big signings, that push to break into the top 4.

I think the subtitle shoul be:

Everton FC 2018-19: What could possibly go wrong?

No signings, no major outgoings, first game of the season finishes 22-nil.

I've just been watching the highlights of that. Their goalie looked utterly dejected on that 21st goal, like he had gave up hope or summat.

ETA it was the 20th goal (I think)

Blackburn 3 Everton 0. Hopefully some of the older contingent will understand what is required.

The last one is a bit mad, but the first three can all leave.

How will Tosun do this season with more support? Asking for fantasy football reasons.

ToffeeTV vs Allardyce and Merson the highlight of deadline day so far.

Great business today. Bernard is class and Mina has a lot of potential and threat from corners as shown in the world cup.

Timing all the deals so that Allardyce had to comment on them all deserves credit as well.

Not a bad final day for transfers. Especially if we still get Zouma. That Arteta money must've been in a high interest account.

I remember being excited by all of the great signings at this stage last year. So my excitement levels this year are fairly low to say the least.

I remember wasting our time chasing after Sigurdsson when we weren't short of players in his position. Hopefully this time we've signed players we need.

Also we need Tosun to fulfil the potential he's shown now he'll have better support.

We've got Zouma. Basis of a good team. Could take a while to gel.

2-2. Kind of embarassing for our captain that we looked vastly superior once he got sent off and we went down to ten men.

Will Mina take his place when match fit?

Hopefully Holgate will; Silva allegedly wants to play three at the back so one would think (hope) it would be Zouma - Mina - Holgate. That would be harsh on Keane, who probably had his best game for us today, but necessary.

He came on before halftime for Sigurosson, he showed some promise when he got a chance last season.

I thought he was our best defender last season; certainly the one bit of the Allardyce era that was even half watchable was when him and Williams were at the back. Then came that row with Firmino and out of the side he went.

That could be Jags' last game for Everton. Three match ban, or whatever. Mina will take his place and hopefully keep it. No disrespect to Jags who's been brilliant but I think that could be the end.

Good performance overall today I thought. Could've won if Jags had got the yellow his challenge deserved.
