Everton 09/10 thread

Lescott's put in a request to leave. If he goes, who will get your goals?

The Grauniad report that the Senderos deal has hit a snag, namely that Arsene wants five million for him:

What is up with the bespectacled maestro of the Emirates? First he refuses to pay more than two bob for that Chamakh despite having Citeh's dirty cash stuffed in every pocket, and now he is demanding real money just because Hamburg and "a Premier League club" (lets face it, its Phil Brown's Hull) have offered such crazy sums for someone who is out of contract next season.

When you take the recent behaviour of him, Moyes and that Benitez into account it is clear that the new yardstick of managerial excellence is to get the most insane transfer fee possible when selling a player. Its just a shame though that this man has beaten them all with that Ibrahimovic deal:

Moyes talks tough over Lescott:

Moyes said today: "Lescott has had his head twisted in all of this. I hear that City think they are talking to people who make the decisions here, well that's me.

"I make the decisions, they have not talked to me and the player has been consistently told he is not for sale. He should get his head around that and get on with his career."

In a bar room brawl between Moyes and Hughes my money's on Moyes. I suspect Sparky would be all mouth and trousers.

I wouldn't want a player at the club who wanted to go so badly that they put a transer request in.

Poor management from Moyes on two counts.

Also, he hasn't got any back up for his centre backs.

20 million plus for lescott is a joke, he's been shown up every time he's played for england.

He's a good player. Everton's top scorer (mostly from set peices) 90% of Everton's goals come from set peices.

£20m? Not so sure.

Although Johnson's apparently £18m player.

£18m for a defender who can't fucking defend.

Apart from us not having sold him yet, isnt this exactly what Benitez did with Alonso? You know, say no until the buying club bite the bullet, offer silly money and then take it. I am sure that if/when Hughes turns up with said silly money then he will be off, but until they do so he will remain with us.

As for us not having cover for our centre backs, we have more ready to play over the weekend (Lescott, Yobo, Rodwell) than you lot do (Skrtel and Carragher doubtful, Agger out).
