Everton 08/09 Plus Europe

Tiago was so pissed off at Juve trying to sell him to Everton he locked his president in the toilet. :D :D

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has confirmed that disgruntled player Tiago Mendes locked him in the loo!

In quite the strangest story to emerge from Serie A in many a year, the tension between the club and Tiago seems to have gone overboard.

“The story of me being locked in the toilet by Tiago is true,” confessed Cobolli Gigli live on Sky Italia television.

“It's a shame it got out, as this was something I told a friend in confidence. In any case, Alessandro Del Piero responded to the noise of me punching the door and offered to break it down.

“I told him it was better if someone else did it, as he needed to keep his shoulders in good shape for the Fiorentina game.”

Well at least it deprives Everton's next UEFA opponents of one of their best players... I'd hope that for 15 mill he's gonna have a longer term impact than that though.

So, nothing happens for ages then big money splashed at the last minute. Was the money there all summer or did it just materialise late on?

Well, £15 million was available, not enough for Moutinho but seemingly enough for Fellaini.

So if Moyes replaces Keegan at Newcastle will Comedy Kev be a welcome replacement at Goodison? Or Allardyce? Or Souness perhaps?

Or will Kendall come back for a 4th time?

Shit one if Moyes leaves for the Fawlty Towers of the North East, don't see why he would after all the effort he's put into Everton and I can't imagine him taking to well to being told what to do by that thick cunt Ashley and Satan's very own Pokemon Wise.

I reckon if they hadn't got Fellaini he'd be tempted. However his arrival the possibility of Love in January should keep him until either Celtic or Rangers come calling.

I'm glad for Moyes that he's at least got a bit more powder in his horn. Besides the fact that he's the bluenoses boss he's a hardworking and honest man which, can't be said for the cocks who are running the show above him. Not that it's any better across Stanley park these days either.:(

This should be interesting tonight.
Apparently radio merseyside are going to broadcast it :D

do you know what time it's on?

Nope just a mention on the echo forums that it was going to be broadcast tonight. I suppose they'll need a bit of time to edit all the effin and jeffin out but Kenbright has already said if it gets feisty he'll close the meeting. There's also a gagging order on discussing anything other than the stadium move.
Soft cunt can't even deal with the passion of his own fans.

As an aside..
I remember being in the vice pres suite(Now Brian Labone suite) on one of the latter home games of the season a few years back when they put the next seasons prices up somewhere in the region of 200% and insisting that everyone had to have a sit down meal included in the price of the ticket.

There were old blues in there who'd payed through the nose for decades to be members of that suite. Some of the longstanding members on the table next to us even sent Labone up to bring Ken down for an explanation.
He just sent the ageing legend back down saying it's the first he'd heard about it and that he'd look into it.
Nothing changed, some payed more to remain members, some got downgraded to the cheaper suite, and one I know left for good.
His view was that the need to feed the Toffs that Europe might bring was moving the 'plebs' back onto the terraces where they belonged. Being the 'redshite' son of a 'bluenose' that i am:D i seized on the opportunity to dispel the myth of 'The people's club':D

Fair do's to the shareholders at Everton who are doing their bit to stand up for what's right. It wouldn't be Liverpool without the masses spoiling the fat-cats party but as we've learned across the park you're over a barrel to the dollar no matter what conversion rate you're getting.

None of us are safe from the financial elites grasp. I'm even waiting for Davith Jones of Wrexham PLC to put in an offer for Chester City FC and then I'm definitely leaving the country.

A no show at games is the answer and Chester are well ahead with that revolt:D

What's this? Your penultimate game in Europe this season and no posts tonight. Fair dos to the generosity shown to away teams at Goodison this season. 7 goals conceded in 3 home games now.

What's happened to Lescott? He used to be good.

So when are some Bitters going to post on this thread? Surely some comments on this season's consistent home form would be appropriate? Or that leaky defence? Or yet another derby defeat? Hm? Eh? No?

Out of Europe. Out of the Carling Cup. 3 straight defeats including at home to Liverpool. Not a single clean sheet. Manager still to sign a new contract. South African girly-man midfielder in alledged assault on a woman...... and someone is going to have to send a request to remove the 'Plus Europe' from this thread title to avoid further ridicule.

Well done the People's Club. Another spectacular jaunt in Europe. Almost as impressive as the Villareal ties a few years back. Thanks for the memories. Losers.

Oh do fuck off, you only scraped past them. Besides, didnt Villareal get to the semi-finals that year?

:D Finally an Everton fan posts on the Everton thread. Well done sir.

Yeah Liverpool beat Liege by a goal in extra time. Everton lost to them by the same margin. So you are saying that Liverpool are better than Everton no? That and beating them in the last three head to head meetings, two of which were at Goodison. So I take your point, Liverpool ARE better than Liverpool.

Make sure you beat the Geordies on Sunday because its Man U and Arsenal up after that. You could be scrapping it out with Spurs for bottom place in the league soon. If that happens I'll have a few quid on your lot as Spurs will have to concentrate on Europe too.

I hope he stays there, did you hear he's after more money than Benetiz gets?.

:D :D

When you look at the players he's had and where he got the blues last year and the one pre-previous I'd say he's working much harder than Rafa pro rata. If Rafa got some of our previous offerings working as hard as Moyes gets out of a team we'd of been dripping in silverware the last two years.

Don't get me wrong i Adore Rafa like the next red man and think he's a much more accomplished all-round manager than Moyes in both the transfer market and tactical play but Moyes can craft an attacking side out of mediochre players which is why i think he's destined for better shores.

I've met Moyes three times. Once at Preston and twice at Everton and I've always had respect for him and found him to be a pretty sound and honest human being on all occasions. Which is also why i think he's wasted on that lot:D

My niece adores the man:rolleyes:

David Moyes - good manager but looks like Mo from The Simpsons with ginger hair. Or Gollum.

I think he deserves a good team.
