Evening Courses 2008/9

Im doing Jewelry making, and possibly printmaking....

Im also trying to get on a DETTL qualification but havent had any joy as of yet.

Only managed one, but wanted two.

Something to do with drama, but talking about it rather than doing it. Sure it will be interesting though. :)

i really want to do one called 'a journey through war time art' run by cambridge uni at the imperial war museum in duxford. It doesnt start til march 2009 so hopefully i'll have enough money by then and they'll still have some places left.

I'm starting a BTEC in Pattern Construction and Garment making tomorrow night, which should mean my sewing machine finally gets some use... and not a course, but there's a knitting club I'm thinking of going to near me on a Wednesday night.

I was going to sign up for a 12 week British Seasonal cookery course that started next week, but thought I'd wait and see how the other course goes and how much time it takes up first, as it runs in January as well.

Medieval sword Fighting sounds  - I should probably be taking up something more physical!

Oooh!!! Are you gonna get one yourself one day?

I had one about 25 years ago but I sold it when I left my then partner. When I bought the business from the woman I trained with there didn't seem any need for a diploma and I had a really good business so I didn't bother with anything formal. I don't think I want to open another grooming parlour but I want to have a few clients that I can build a regular small income from and see where I go from there. It's so long since I last groomed I thought I needed to refresh my skills and also these days some kind of qualification seems to matter. I will also be learning to groom cats, rats, ferrets and other small animals that I haven't done before. I'm not looking forward to grooming a rat :(

Who the hell pays to have their rats groomed anyway? the freaks!:D

Or a ferret *shudders*

Surely you can call the college and explain. You know the tutors right?
If the class isn't full already I'm sure they'd work something out for you!

Our local college has people around and enrolling up to 8pm at the mo.

the class is full pretty much as soon as enrollment starts, it's very popular and there's only 10 places :(

Maybe call/e-mail the tutor and ask if they can contact you if there are any early drop-outs on the course... I've given my details to a course tutor before and done it that way - apparently people often only attend the first couple of sessions and don't bother going back. (Would think that the fact you've done the previous course would be useful as you wouldn't be too far behind...).
just a thought :)

I may do a beginners course in Polish, seeing as the local college runs one.

Hopefully it won't be on a uni day..

easy. you need:

What did you learn? Posture? Some major chords?

I have paid homage to your valient efforts on this thread....http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=199684&page=47

It was a shameless bump also. I start my guitar course next week. :)

Just E and B7. Basic intro and straight into it. Didnt feel too structured. Felt a bit fast for me. I know nothing about them beforehand. I guess key is practicing lots between classes. I find it difficult from switching between. It was my 1st time picking up a guitar though and the lesson was cut to an hour after he re-tuned everyone hah
Oh I used my dads very old guitar which apparently need re-stringing. Do you know how much this is? Or just plump for a new yamaha/fender basic for around 80?
