I cannot stand Jim Carey and my bloke cannot stand Kate Winslet. However we quite enjoyed it (still showing at the Prince Charles occassionally I think).
It really should've ended 5 minutes earlier.

most people know how i feel about this film :|....

incase you dont and have been living in a cave or are a newbie....

i feckin love it and am wrestling vixen in jell-o for it while the bluegrass band plays in january....lol :p...

:D

(shhh...dont tell her though!! ;) ...)

I loved it, BUT it irritated me quite a lot that Clementine was an amalgam of every *quirky girl* cliché in the world, ever.

I've heard it's really good but, I dunno... Jim Carrey. I can't watch that fucker in anything. Hasn't this flim got Kirsten Dunst bouncing about all over the shop? That'd tempt me. ;)

Yeah I thought her character was far more interesting than Clemen-(I'm SO FUCKING QUIRKY, QUIRKY AS FUCK)-tine's actually. :p

i read a hilarious review after watching the film. the critic was praising the film in many ways but said (correctly) that elijah wood was appalling... like a hobbit that had stumbled onto the wrong film set.. :D

I felt the same way about him in Sin City, poor love. :(

I don't think it's his fault, as such, just gonna be VERY tough to escape that image in a lot of people's minds.

I likeit but can't get past jim 'cock' carey. sorry :(

some lovely shots and cinematography, if you like that kind of thing.. :o

Yeah, yeah, well I'd LOVE to meet a woman who is that much of an amalgam of every 'quirky girl' cliché in the world, ever, twice.

I thought it was crap, but this is an argument which will get nowhere except up everybody's noses. I also thought Lost in Translation was crap, for a frame of reference. Is there a similar film I liked? A large part of the problem is that I dislike the premise of these films (and the entire literary tradition of which they are a part). I loved The Truman Show.

Loved it- weird plot with nice romance at its centre, very well directed with interesting flashback sequenses...
I despise Jim Carey but he actually appeared watchable in this :)

I think it's amazing. Jim Carrey is fantastic... I used to hate him as well, but ever since seeing (and completely loving) the Truman Show, I've changed my mind about that. I reckon he's a fantastic actor.

Michel Gondry is a fecking genius. You can buy a very cool double DVD with loads of his music videos and documentaries on it, which is definitely worth a look:

I thought the whole concept of the film, and the way it was done was amazing. I watched it once and then watched it again with the commentary immeadiately afterwards. :D
