Enya - Crap/Not Crap?

No offence intended. Sorry if it came over as dismissive. I was just trying to make a point out demographics and income share from CD vs digital.

You're grand - I just prefer hard copy than digital :) and come to think of it; as much as I'm fond of Enya - I don't think we have a copy of any of her stuff. But we did get a loan of a greatest hits comp. and played it whilst driving around Yakushima. It really worked in that environment.

I can only presume Enya has a significant generation of middle-aged types who still buy CDs and she has a pretty favourable record contract - or has her own label by now or whatever. I mean she doesn't even tour, and I can't recall much of her music being licensed for film/TV for sync royalties (unless I'm hugely mistaken).

She is surely an anomaly in the world of music. Stupendously rich, non-touring, reclusive, only one or two top 10 singles and barely any mainstream success besides Orinoco Flow. I almost admire her.

I recall being told back in the early 2000s that she's done quite a bit of sound-tracking for films and TV under various noms de plumes.

She was on some Japanese music panel show the other week, seriously discussing music, and she performed her new song.
