For. Fuck's. Sake.
TBF, gotta feel sorry for Slovenia - 90+?
Scots have gotta love us now. Fair play they have beaten Slovakia.
Can't feel too bad for Slovenia that was all Oblaks fault
Kane's had nothing to work with all night then one quality ball in from Walker and it's a goal
I never really feel sorry for any team that my team beats!
Literally the only decent ball in all night.
Kane looking like one of those strikers who may not have a good game but only needs a decent chance.
Otherwise that was shocking tbf.
That's it with strikers though - they've only got to score one goal and they have done their job,
But yep, shocking. We have qualified without losing, again, and we will crash and burn at the actual finals, again.
I do hope not, really, but I don't see anything that suggests otherwise.
So who manages England after Southgate gets sacked next summer?
well, yes. But unless someone comes up with a better plan, why sack Southgate?
Well he's crap isn't he?
Appalling. Unbeaten, qualified with a game to spare. Really dreadful.
You deleted the first part of my post "unless someone comes up with a better plan", and wrt littlebabyjesus post we have qualified so rejoice. But i suspect you are fishing and I am pissed so I'll drop off this thread. ING GER LUND!!!!
Yeah I just wasn't sure what you meant by a better plan? A better manager would be the plan
Allardyce agrees to drop his billion pound case against the FA, if they give him the job back (at a billion pounds per year). FA agree.
Sounds good to me
Agreed, except that he's not that stupid to take it even if it was offered it to him. Maybe in 20 years time.
Fell asleep, did we win?
A somewhat Phyrric victory, yes. 93rd minute winner from Harry 'Harry' Kane
I've seen no improvement in the team since he took over. None.
we'd go out but at least it might be interesting
Or, y'know, not
a glorious win
Isn't it the nature of qualifiers though that you tend to get lots of dreary games? In England's case, they drew a pretty favourable group without any other strong teams in it, meaning that every other team was likely to be happy with a draw against them. If you don't score early, you're likely to get a poor game spectacle-wise.
England have won just one match in the last two World Cups (S.Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014). 1-0 against Slovenia.
As someone who is half Irish, I have worked out that if Wales beat Georgia today then Ireland can't qualify. And Wales are currently 1-0 up. Woud be so much more exciting if it came down to the Wales - Ireland Game on Monday
You’ve worked things out wrong. Of course Ireland can qualify if they win their last two games.
Only if Serbia lose their last 2, which ain't gonna happen.
Not sure you know the rules. 8 of the 9 second placed teams go into a draw against each other, 4 winners win. This will now come down to Wales v Ireland to see who comes second and goes into that play off situation.
