Oh nearly got exciting then...
Lingard can be a bit sparky, but what the fuck was going on there?
This is awful
Is it time for England's extra jammy last minute winner?
I wish I had a dancing Gareth gif at the ready
It sounds better on the radio.
Lucky to get a point.
What a load of rubbish...
(Repeat ad infinitum)
Lucky to get nil as my old man would say.
i say it's a brave move by the English players to boycott the World Cup in Russia
No need to lay it on generously for the Slovenes so often when they created enough of their own.
Interesting game. All the pretenders to the be the 'main man' for England, whether as captain, play-maker or goal scorer, were simply brutal. Deir, Stones,Henderson, Ali, and Sturridge respectively. The latter should never start for England again. Slovenia should have won by a couple of goals. England didn't get a shot on target until the 55 min I think.
So this is what England look likes with Rooney 'retired'. And will continue to look like. Instead of qualifying with ease, it's back to England displaying their traditional strengths: bluff, bluster and scuffling. Enjoy.
Point is ok but performance was awful.
This is also how England looked when Rooney wasn't retired. Awful as they were, the Iceland game was worse.
No it isn't. When was the last time England played this badly in a qualifier? When was the last time they lost or even drew a qualifier? England against Russia was one of the best displays by England at a tournament for years. Result didn't match it but still. The second half against Wales again edge of the seat stuff. Rooney contribution from midfield incidentally, critical to both. Iceland was an unmitigated disaster. But it was at least in a tournament. On the night, Hart's display was easily his worst. Tonight it was arguably his best. That says it all. At this rate this side will struggle to even get to a tournament to get knocked out.
Malta away tonight, Henderson captains.
England XI: Hart, Jones, Bertrand, Walker, Cahill, Sterling, Livermore, Alli, Henderson, Kane, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Subs: Butland, Smalling, Cresswell, Keane, Stones, Chalobah, Defoe, Sturridge, Welbeck, Vardy, Rashford, Heaton.
Like others, would have liked to have seen Butland given a chance to get some competitive international minutes under his belt.
Is it on council telly?
One of the 'light' channels eh oh well, it will have to do.
Like Ali v Foreman or Mayweather v McGregor, we're just biding our time, waiting to pounce...
From the BBC text feed:
Apparently our fans got booed for not joining in in the Mexican wave
Embarrassing stuff from Engerland.
Get Vardy on
Three shots on goal according to beeb, so technically correct.
Southgate 45 mins from appearing with his face in a malteser on tomorrow's front pages.
