England vs. Windies fourth test, Chester-Le-Street

something of a bug in the cricinfo display, which reads

"West Indies lead by 109 runs with 0 wickets remaining"

222-9 ,awkward last wicket partnership - chanderpaul - surely player of the series, 1000 minutes without getting out

e2a all out 222, chanderpaul finally bowled

Yep Shiv has to be player of the series....ahead of Monty.

So, about 2 runs an over - assuming they can get the alloted 50-ish overs in - for England to win. Gotta go for Cook, Strauss, KP, Prior, Bell, Vaughan I reckon.

Bell and Vaughan tend to be too cautious. Let Cook and Strauss bed in, then if need be send in KP and Prior for some serious hitting.

Cook down, and Fidel amuses the sparse crowd with one of the loudest profanities of recent years. 24/1 and they are off for tea.

I had half an eye on Cricinfo throughout the day as I was working but am watching now. Sounds not too dissimilar to the rest of the match. Flashes of good form from the Windies interspersed with awful, awful Cricket, and only kept in it by Shiv 'the limpet' Chanderpaul. You've got to feel sorry for Chanderpaul; he doesn't deserve to be on the wrong end of a 3-0 thrashing.

Easily players of the series though...not that it will be much comfort for him. Averaging 120 for a series and still being in a side utterly humiliated - bar Dwayne Bravo.

Collymore may have a bit of the Marvin Gaye circa "What's Goin' On" but his bowling has been awful, almost as poor as Plunkett.

Yeah, reckon he is the outstanding player of the series.

That's the thing. With the exception of Sidebottom and Panesar who've been pretty much immaculate, England's bowling has been pretty wayward for large parts of this series. The fact that the Windies couldn't make a better fist of it given this fact is a searing indictment of the most of the team.

Indeed. And still huge question marks around Strauss' technique at the mo.

But still, Ryan and Monty have looked good, Hoggy is back and Prior is firmly the #1 behind the stumps.

Burning cat noises from Marlon Samuels as Gayle dismisses Pietersen with only six left for England to get.

Presumably there will be a man of the series for each team; in which case I'd nominate Panesar and Chanderpaul.

Chanderpaul man of the match and Windies man of the series. No surprises there then. Tbh he looks in a different class to the rest of his team.

Panesar England man of the series.
