Kirsten Dunst applauding a Matt Prior boundry at Lord's.

Funny old world.
That's what I thought.

I wonder if England will declare this evening. If I were them I'd be tempted after I'd got to about 450.

Good thing for the Windies this isn't a county game; if they didn't get the next wicket within seven overs they'd only get one point for bowling.

Mike Atherton currently doing all he can in the comm box to jinx Bell and Prior and stop them getting to 100. Currently on 95 apiece.

Bell through to 100 now too. First time England have had 4 centuries in one innings in decades apparently. Declaration?

Umpires taking them off for bad light now at 553-5.

I'll lay odds they won't be batting again in the morning.

So given that for only the second time ever (and the first since 1938) England have had four batsmen make centuries in the same innings, who should be dropped to make way for Flintoff and Vaughan to return?

Noo-one, sending them back to their counties would both be good for team morale and give them a chance to hit some form without really damaging Englands chances of winning the series.

It won't happen. If they're fit they'll play.

Thank heaven for Monty! Plunkett and Harmison have in general been pretty poor today. Without Monty's 4-108, the Windies would probably be in a far better situation than 363-7.

Whoever paints the names on the honours board has their work cut out; five centuries and a six-fer for England now.

England have been betrayed by the weather. Only 20 overs of play because of rain and bad light. Match drawn. Cook man of the match.

What's all this talk of Harmison's wrist position? Apparently that's what's letting him down. Surprised it couldn't be fixed in the nets.

the weather saved a day of nothing and permitted the finest selection of poetry ever pulished on the internet on the guardian o-b-o, which has to be a good thing.

The commentators were saying that Harmison had his wrist to one side of the ball with the seam pointed towards the slips instead of seam up and wrist behind the ball.

How on Earth can you know? The Windies looked to be going quite well when they were on, but they could easily have come under pressure, especially as Plunkett and Harmison were looking better (not hard admittedly).

i can't know, but i can speculate based on evidence, from this test match and from previous first tests of the series at lords and come to a conclusion from that, which is what i did.

Yeah but nothing will happen with the players in the pavilion. As I said, in what little play there was, the Windies were going quite well (at about 4/over in fact); if that had gone on for a bit more time, anything could have happened.
