England vs. Pakistan Fourth test

lets all laugh at Pakistan!!
Not a laugh, but it does seem an odd thing to do given that they were still heavy favourites to win (Botham was saying the same of Sky just as I typed that).

You have obviously not got the best interests of cricket in mind. I suspect you have a very different agenda.

not at all.

Lets try and remember the last time they cheated - oh yes, last winter. It's like Robben and Drogba diving - it goes against you when you're a bunch of cheats.

hold on, if you're accused of something with no particular evidence, no right of reply, why should you just leave it. Particularly something as serious as ball-tampering.

There's no information yet on the nature of the alleged tampering, nor any evidence of it occurring. It may have, it may not.

Pakistan coming out. No sign of the umpires though. Darrell Hair refusing to stand apparently (unconfirmed).

Thats whats there saying on 5 live. Anyone knows what happens when the umpire refuses to stand? cant they replace him with the 3rd umpire or something?

Fourth umpire. Thing is though that when they drew stumps they effectively awarded England the game according to the Laws.

This is going to be a grudge match when England next tour Pakistan.

hopefully there'll be the impasse that occurred after the Gatting series. No country likes playing Pakistan and certainly no-one likes touring there. Pakistan have been caught cheating so many times it's come back to bite them. They do not deserve any sympathy.

I dont see why, this is an arguement between the umpires and Pakistani players.

If England win this test through forfeiture and an umpire refusing to stand, I doubt Pakistan will feel well-disposed towards them next series even though England weren't involved in the decision.

head of the PCB was adamant that England and the ECB were not at fault for this and that there was no dispute between the two teams or the two boards. I wouldn't try and suggest anything about future Pakistan attitudes to England.

WELL SAID!!!

I know I dont post much but I feel strongly about this, they have forfeited the match, 3-0 to England.

The Pakistanis should be punished severely for this.

Mark.

How do you explain the fact that with nearly 30 tv cameras spread around the ground there has, as yet, been no footage found of Pakistani fieldsmen tampering with the ball?
