I never once thought it under sven. Haven't truly believed since euro 96 or world cup 98.
Bridge is ok but nowhere near as good as Cole. As for Richards, what has happened to him?
Capello seems to have no interest in him at all
I have to admit I did think it before 2006. Then I saw Sven's striker selection.
I reckon if he keeps in good form he'll get chosen again though. Capello does seem to choose players on form rather than history or preference. That's what's great about him.
Ha yeah, that's what completely killed any hope at all for me. Its not like the strikers weren't there either. That's why people were so outraged.
It was totally daft. Then he tried to do the 4-5-1, I think part of the problem was that he acknowledged that Gerrard-Lampard didn't work without a holding midfielder, so he tried them with Hargreaves, and then he didn't want to leave out Cole or Lennon either, meaning Rooney was stranded on his own...
Capello will face the same problem when Joe Cole comes back, but I reckon Capello will realise that Rooney just can't play as a lone striker and as our most important player the team has to be built around him and ensure he plays to his strengths, and one of Cole or Lennon just will have to be left out (of the starting XI), probably Cole since it worked so well the other day.
I think Micah Richards was consistently poor last season.
I suspect he is coming back into form.
Didn't he have some off the pitch issues ?
Potentially a very good player.
Must win game this
