England v Portugal

Yep, he looks kinda depressed and anxious/paranoid....just goes to show that money can't make you happy, eh....

Give me Sven's money, or a quarter of it, and I GUARENTEE that I'd be a whole lot happier** than I am now. No question.

**Principally, indeed exclusively, through not having to get up in the morning

Rich tossers who are 'unhappy' can fuck off ....

We need someone dynamic and passionate to take England forward!

Welcome, Steve McClaren!!! :(

You just agreed with me in your post above.

I never agreed with you, god forbid that we should ever agree! Germany is technically superior to us. Watch 'their' sweden game compared to ours.

Yes, Sven was asked this before the last 16 and they practice them quite regularly.

Still think we'll lose on pens today though, just a feeling :(

Come on chaps!

 :(

*shrug*

I'm sure it's all been said really.

Findign myself agreeing with Richard Williams, for just about the first time:

"Where, on Saturday, was the Englishman prepared to take control of the game as Zinédine Zidane would do in France's defeat of Brazil later that night? The only candidate was Owen Hargreaves, who both converted his penalty - the one Englishman to do so - and secured the man- of-the-match award with 120 minutes of non-stop tackling, intercepting, running and passing. Alone among his colleagues, he displayed a dynamism that seemed to come from within. What also makes him unique among the squad, of course, is that he has never lived in England. The two things may not be unconnected."

Lennox Lewis was Canadian. And he was gunshy. Apart from that, I make you right.

Nope, he was born in London (Newham) and moved to Canada when he was 13, where he resided for around 8 years.

So if I stay in China for 8 years will I become Chinese? I somehow don't think so.

Indeed. The one I was looking to do the business was Gerrard, who has had a shite World Cup, even with his two goals. Hardly made an impression and is still far better for LFC. He's doing his best to live up to his The New John Barnes tag.

Thats a good article, but why do you not like Richard Williams in general? I think he's an excellent football writer myself ...

That depends on whether you represent China in the Olympics, twice, doesn't it?

The funny thing is, if we had adopted Lennox Lewis as our own and proclaimed him a great british champion and made him a man of the people.

You can bet your ass the same people complaining now would be pointing and saying....see you have to adopt champions from other countries cause you can't produce any of your own.

Just can't win against that sort of mentality.
