England v Andorra 10/6/09

:D

I don't think it would be demoralising at all. Usually we only beat them about 2-0 which is quite a good result for them. Being a part-timer facing some of the world's best players (supposedly) and they only beat you 2-0.

I guess. I suppose they got used to it quick-style! More a case of how few goals can we concede rather than can we win...

Think about it, you're an amateur team, it's not that unimpressive only to lose 2-0 to a professional team in the lower leagues, never mind a supposedly top notch team (not that England don't continually disappoint us (pre Capello)).

I'm very impressed with Capello. I knew he was good at getting fancy dans to work as a team (see Real Madrid) but still, 7 out of 7 is very impressive, a very poor half an hour in Almaty notwithstanding.

Rooney is the top scorer in the European qualifiers too :) Let's hope he can stay fit til next year and we don't have the customary 'Metatarsal hysteria' in about March/April.

Did anyone else notice what Fabio said to Pearce when the third goal went in?

Slapped him on the knee, indicated to the exit and said "let's fuck off" :D

Top stuff.

Well obviously I lip read it but I'm 99.9% certain that's what he said.

Hopefully someone will stick it up on youtube from the ITV clip.

Sounds like something Stuart Pearce would say, not sure about Capello though! Fingers crossed for it appearing on YouTube

Championship teams come in at the third round too.
Shows how little attention I've been paying :o

Did anyone else think our final third let us down? I haven't seen the stats but given the possession and opportunities, we probably should have had more goals.

I know it's kinda stupid to be looking at the negatives when we won 6-0, but I can't help feeling we weren't very clinical. And just by the by, I'm also not one of those fans who expects us to beat teams like Andorra 10-0 every time, and will accept a 2-0 if I think that the other team made it difficult, but last night Andorra really didn't.

Ach, that sounds so rubbish and negative! :o
