England/ Uruguay - anyone care?

I thought Cole was excellent, although he does remind me of that Argie chap in '98, Ariel Aorta or summat, dances about a little too much

exactly, Coles feet quite literally have a mind of their own, to a point where even Cole doesn't know what his feet are going to do next, which is why he loses the ball more often than not.

What are people's feelings on Carrick being first choice to partner Gerrard or Lampard? I personally think he's a better passer than those two or Beckham and he will very rarely give the ball away allowing Cole, SWP and Rooney to do their tricks.

Carrick may be good in a couple of years but there is no way we should drop Gerrard or Lampard to play him just yet. No way

Cole does try to keep the ball for too long sometimes, but he is an England player who can actually go past opponents. Who else but Rooney can do that really?

I was more than impressed with Carrick, but I do have to say that I am bemused as to why Sven won't give Scott Parker a go. To me, as a neutral, he's the better of the two, alhtough Carrick's a more than able deputy.
