You have to feel a bit sorry for those two Chelsea players. They ought to follow Solanke out of the Bridge soon.

Feels like there have been a number of times we've won the second ball, often after not challenging for the first. Like, a Venezuelan player will jump for a high ball and miss it or overrun a pass, and our lads will be there to pick it up. Could just be coincidence, but certainly looks like superior composure.

I obviously expect this to come back and bite me in the arse later in the match

Excellent save, got his defence out of one there.

Onomah - who I'm paying particular attention to, obvs - playing really well on the ball. A touch of the Dembele's in his ability to retain possession under heavy pressure.

I was thinking this too, having just caught on this today on the iplayer, although I won't have seen nearly as much of either as you. Kane seems OK for England, but Alli has yet to show his Spurs form for his country, leading me to try to think of who might be able to play the Eriksen and Dembélé roles for England.

Lallana seems the closest to Eriksen, but I may be forgetting someone obvious.

Give it a couple of years and it'll be Harry Winks, mark my words.

Doesn't he play deeper, sort of Carrick or Fabregas-styley?

Yep - but that's more where Dembele's been playing in recent times too.

Ah right, I was thinking you had him down for the Eriksen role.

Is Winks better than Onomah, or at least potentially? Or would they come as a pairing?
