End of the Road 2009

don't get me wrong - I had a whale of a time. but you did really get the sense that it was one man's music taste. Just reading the descriptions in the programme, your eyes started to glaze over - "glockenspiel", "acoustic guitar", "canadian indie-folk band"

actually Archie Bronson Outfit were good too. And both t-model ford and Bob Log kind of rocked, although you didn't really need to hear more than a song or two of em.

I wish I could have gone. Been talking to Charlie Parr, Josh Pearson and others who played and they said it was briliiant though knowing Pearson he probably just said that to wind me up but he was genuinely glowing about Steve Earle and Archie Bronson Outfit

we had a top time, charlie parr was great, especially in the teeny tipi and bfb were on form. blitzen trapper were outstanding. re lineup, i didn't find as much to dance to as i'd have liked, but i reckon if i'd done my homework and listened to more stuff ahead of time i'd have found it, i'm still working through a load of new-to-me names on spotify. but then i've never been one to rush from band to band, i like to pick a couple and take my time getting between them and eotr's a great one for that i reckon. great for random meetings/discoveries.

weather utterly perfect, site beautiful as ever, great crowd, close to perfect imho.
