Empire building in SE24. Herne Hill doomed..

Back to cafe P...Wry and I have had breakfast in there a couple of times and I just love the feel of the place...one can imagine (one can you know!!) being there in an occupied London, smoking strong tobacco, drinking red wine and coffee and listening to jazz in the dark waiting for 'them' to break the place up...

BTW, good to see this sign business was cleared up...

I'd agree with that. I go in for the soul'n'ska first, food second.

Last time I went to Cafe Prov they had some kind of soft rock on there. Not even blues, just mouldy rock.

I was most distressed and felt a little cheated. Still, after enough of those quick-to-drink tumblers of wine everything seemed just rosy...

:)

They're dead nice in there -- hendo was once asking about the CD that was on and they offered to burn him a copy. He forgot all about it, and then some other friends who'd been there turned up with it to give to him. Bless. (We were uber-regulars at that time -- not so much lately.)

Heightening of Alert State:

I have recently received notice that the Dulwich Reich's demands for Lebensraum have moved to their southern borders.

Renaming of Sydenham Hill Station

The Dulwich Society has officially petitioned Network Rail to consider renaming Sydenham Hill Station. The Society believes that the title of the station is confusing for passengers; not only is it not on Sydenham Hill, but it is at the foot of a steep hill away from it. The name proposed is South Dulwich.

In the past two other Dulwich stations have been renamed. West Dulwich was originally named Dulwich Station and East Dulwich was Champion Hill
Dulwich Society Newsletter - Spring 2008

The brave resistance fighters of Virtual Norwood may shortly be calling for your support.

Herne Hillites. Have no doubt, that if the Dulwich Society are successful in their stealthy plans for conquest of "a remote suburb in southern Southwark about which we know so little", their territorial ambitions will soon return to closer to your homeland.

I agree that Sydenham Hill station is actually in the southern part of Dulwich, but I can't see any reason for renaming it.

Hehehe - thread back from the dead... it's all coming true!

I gave up on defending HH from the SE22 interlopers. Whenever I go back it is obvious I failed :(

I now plot from SE5.

Acton, baby. Plus a central and a main line. They win.

Fuck stations...the Norwood massive spreads far and wide.

But West Norwood is in danger. I know someone who said they moved to Dulwich...in reality it was very close to the West Norwood dump, sorry West Norwood Recycling Centre

Is it a fait accompli ?

From today's Lottery Press release announcing the refurbishment of Brockwell Park:

Located between Brixton, Norwood and Dulwich, London‘s Brockwell Park opened in 1892...
