Round our way it's limited to these ^^ and the emo/punk/metal kids

i'd say it's way less tribal than years ago.... dunno. what tribes are there today?

how picky do you want to be about your tribes? Dance, rock, pop, or emo / metal / punk or an individual group for each & every one of us?

Still  but feeling a bit better about it now. :D

Still failing to see why the emo hatred though - I mean, there's always rivalry, but hatred doesn't seem to be too strong a word for some of what went on at Download this year. One guy dressed in his usual clothes & wandered the campsite for an hour, then dressed as an 'emo' & wandered ~ the 'emo' encountered some hard times. :( We were all there for the same reason, and to see the same bands..... Im showing my age again, aren't I.

there might be a lot of emo-action on myspace, but it certainly predates myspace by a long long way, even in its most recent form
In its current form surely it's pretty much only about myspace and a haircut though?

you're acting like it's a new thing. What about the Smiths fan in a class full of metal kids? the goth in the shopping centre being chased by the local lads? The mod walking into the rocker's pub. same old same old.

(((ickle Dub))) Anything you want to share with the group?

:D

nah! i looked like a metal kid when it was an issue, then a crusty/punk. The goth period happened when i was out of school and could look after myself :)

Generally I alway found it to be the Smiths fans taking the piss out the jitters.. sorry, metallers.

Because they wander around being whiny, self indulgent (and indulged) little pricks, with their 'sensitivity' and 'feeling the pain of the world' replacing righteous teen anger and rail against the system instincts?

Has the Emo outfit always been skinny school-ish tops/shirts and floppy fringe? Sounds like they take their inspiration from consumptive English poets like Byron...

i see alot of girls in yuppie emo type wares these days, the emo haircut, big pearls, polka dots maybe, the earrings... its so hard to keep up

i'd say that's more just trendy than emo.... the boundaries are getting too blurred.

i want lines to be drawn and rucks on brighton beach

So LostProphets selling millions of albums passed you by? That sort of thing.
Well excuse me! Is there an emo kid inside you just struggling to get out? :D

Btw it seems like all the emo kids down in Devon hang around outside Tescos trying to look misplaced and misbegotten. They just look a bit crap really. And many of them are far too well nourished to successfully pull off that starving tortured artist in a garret look.
