'Embassy' World Snooker

Allen just wouldn't give it up would he? Chased Ronnie all the way, all credit to him cos he pulled off some great shots. Gutted to see Hendry through, and playing well too.

On Sunday, I asked my Granddad what he made of the shape of Mark King's head. He said that he is a "square head", just like "that cartoon with the yellow people they have on at 6pm every day." Make of that what you will.

I have a tip for people whose surname is "King"! Don't call your son something that sounds like a word when you put it together, because it's just silly!

I quite like Mark King, he's another who threatens to throw in the towel every couple of tournies and give it all up. Not the best natural player in the world, but you can learn a lot from watching his matches because his shot selection is always bang-on.

Well there's Hendry up £157,000!!!

Always nice to see a 147, even if it is that slimy pudgy faced shite knocking one in.

I thought that the money goes to the quickest 147 if there's more than one?

I think they split it if more than one player gets a 147. Far as I remember, it's £147,000 for the 147 and £10,000 for the highest break... so I guessed at £157,000 in total. If more than one gets the 147 I guess they split them both.

Cracking Higgins finish last night - his interview afterwards was really good as well, really bringing it home how a player thinks etc

Just seen the 147 on the web, awesome stuff

John Parrot just confirmed that.

Murphy's up 11-8 on Hendrix. Just put his hand up to a foul when he accidentally nudged a red, what an honest man. Let's hope he continues to make the best of this run before his divorce papers turn up.

Good match between murphy/robertson on now.

Yup, both excellent long potters holding their nerve. Murphy's edging ahead now though. I wonder whether now would be a good time for him to get served those divorce proceedings?

I didn't like Murphy much going into this tournament but I'm quite admiring how well he's knuckled down and got on with his snooker.

Shame Robertson's out. Seems quite a character. Murphy finished off well tonight though to be fair. Think he'll have Higgins as he looked a bit jaded today.

I'm watching the final online as I work and I grew up in watching snooker's golden age in the 1980s, but I've got to say how much better the players are today. The shame, of course, is there are few characters left these days.

Yessssssss! Hendry's out, the pasty-faced Scottish cunt.
you just made me spray my keyboard :D

yeah, I liked Robertson a lot, I was rooting for him. That was an absolutely classic match to watch, Murphy just hitting the accelerator for the last 3 frames to take it.

I'd also like Higgins to win, but like you say, he seems to have run out of steam a bit :( Murphy looks much hungrier to win.
