ELF on CBS News

so quit the 'sane' bollocks and substitute 'people within the relatively narrow spectrum of my mainstream rightist worldview'.
So in your opinion it is legitimate to commit arson to prevent legal economic activities with which you disagree, and that the only objectors to this are people with a "rightist worldview" (who are, mysteriously, at once within a "narrow spectrum" and "mainstream")? Incomprehensible!

No, he was being neither, which is no great stretch for this site. The rest of this thread proves that.

I hate to tell you this, but everyone was dicking with you. Me included.

BTW, you never addressed my points about drug gangs being better "terrorists" than the ELF.

Actually, knowing thora slightly (he's a she incidentally) I suspect she does approve of torching SUVs, but would distinguish that kind of damage against things (and things that are destroying the planet at that) from violence (against people).

Hopefully she'll come and correct me if I'm wrong.

Perhaps rogue yam you can't imagine anything more important than someone's property. Not everyone shares that worldview.

I can't say that it breaks my heart when it is compared with 154 murders commited by one drug gang. I must not have any "values" seeing how I value lives more than property.

Yes. I read it. Have you bothered to take a look at the situatiuon from a possibly different perspective?
I look at everything from my own perspective, like all those who lack the power of telepathy :)

However, my point was that I never once said that the ELF weren't terrorists (at least in the way defined by US law), terrorism is a tactic and doesn't have any inherent moral dimension, IMO. All I was doing was pointing out the twisted logic involved in valuing property above human life.

Though admitadly it's more luck than skill that seems to have prevented those morons from accidentally killing somebody.
