Electro House

i used to end up seeing duckenfield and winston hazel pretty regularly, for some reason... always had a good night.

prefered hazel on the whole, if only for his mc-ing.

I play a lot of electro house, at the moment enjoying stuff coming out on Playtime, Ocean Trax even Excess occasionally hits the spot. I've got a couple of mixes posted up on the mix thread, heres a link to the most recent - might be the kind of stuff you like.

Some electro house music all mixed together

:)
Ah right i didn't see anyone else on there doing that sort of stuff stuff, I'm about to check that mix out. I stuck one up there as well here with a lot of the best (IMHO of course) electro-house stuff of the year - justice, crystal castles, sebastiAn, yuksek... and not wanting to just put links to my things, but that's where i know it is online, the 2nd half of this mix here (44min, 48Mb) has some ace stuff in it too you'd probably like, notably MSTRKRFT - Street Justice and Para One - Dun-dun Boyz Noise remix.

My mate also did one here which has a lot of good stuff in it, but no track list yet mp3 file 1hr - 83Mb

But as well as that stuff i'd also recommend pretty much anything on the kitsune or ed banger labels, simian mobile disco, modeselektor, Does it offend you, yeah?, tepr, Mr Oizo, loads of good stuff. it's been a great year...

I can see from the varied artists and tracks in this thread, this is a distinct genre that is far removed from what has come to be known as just "house music" ... and it's exactly my thing.

Can I be fucked to list my favourite artists of the last 3 months?

Hmmm... we'll see.

:) @ the house people!

SWAG is Chris and Richard Brown.

Me? SPAM!

I used to know Chris and Richard quite well, I worked at Warp in '91 and '92 and they were DJing under the name Asterix and Space and used to come in the shop and buy records.

I started there on a Saturday and when I walked in Winston and Parrot were opening the imports that had just come in. Winston stuck Gypsy Woman by Crystal Waters on and I just stood there and was blown away by it, everyone was, but most of all I remember thinking that I was right where I wanted to be, the fucking Forgemasters were there.

I recommended Chris for a job in the shop as he had such an encyclopeadic knowledge of tunes and he actually could tell what tune people were on about when they came in and sang it at the counter.

I met all the Warp artists, got to know George from Nightmares really well and we used to recommend stuff to the label we heard like Black Dog, Autechre, stuff like that.

Rob asked me if I wanted to have a go in the Fon studios one time but I didn't want to do it on my own and so I asked Chris and Richard if they fancied it, that was the RAC ep, Richard, me and Chris. Iirc my contribution boiled down to bringing the drugs so I really can't say it's any of my work but it was good times. Seems like another life now. :)

ladytron, felix da housecat, miss kitten, chicks on speed, can't think of any more at the moment
Hmm yeah but all very close to the straight-up electroclash part of the spectrum.
