Electrical fault, where to start?

I had another nose about the rear offside quarter this afternoon. Its tricky to get the trim back to get in there but what surprised me was that the wiring bundle was wet and there was evidence of water around the inside of the backlight.

This morning it rained and I thought a perfect moment for me to find out where the water was coming from. So off with the trim and a nose about, but there was no water on the wiring or the inside of the light.

I don't understand it, when it did not rain there was water on the wires and now when it does rain there is not. It seems rain water is clearing down the drain section of the rear tailgate correctly and not getting into the light unit which is a good thing.

Anyhow, more days without the fuse blowing.
