Electrical Enterprises on Brixton Hill

I have to admit it's not my favourite either.. although if you actually go to the shop they have much less dense and far nicer loaves...

The best bread in Brixton in my mind, is the enormous white bloomers they do in my local Portuguese deli.... delicious!!

If you venture as far as Herne Hill though the Bluebird bakery's loaves are spectacular, but pricey.

Have a word, wouldja? I'd love to support a local organic bakery, but I'm really fussy about me bread & know what I like...

This sounds wonderful. Which deli?

It's Nune's fruit and veg at the foot of Tulse Hill (just a few shops up from the Hobgoblin)... it's a very small Portuguese shop with a small sandwich bar and coffee and cakes and stuff... but they do these mahoosive white bloomers (and smaller ones too) which are gorgeous!

Many thanks for that. I'll look forward to checking it out!

He's a rather large and wild looking scotsman so I'm not sure I'd be able to persuade him to change it ;)

A slight digression...when was the last time you came across a shop or restaurant that was so bad the only logical explanation was that it was a front for a money laundering outfit? I can certainly think of a few example...

Where the Chinese takeaway is there used to be some Greek or Cypriot guys that had a pool table in there and sold a few pot plants.

They used to sit outside in the summer and leer at women walking past

Never figured out what the business was but apparently they were a well dodgy family
