Live is brown, because if you touch it, you’ll shit yourself.

Or as my dad told me, George Brown is a live wire. Though he never explained how referring to a politician who was active before I was born was meant to be easy to remember. Despite that, the phrase has stayed in my head for more than 40 years

Same here, although I was alive when George Brown was being a live wire, if not aware of his antics. And how long is it since the skill needed to wire a plug became superfluous?

Some of these mnemonics are harder to remember than whatever it is they're supposed to help with, at least for me.

I can't forget that Rebel, serfs, rebel! Resent wrongs so dire! will assist in remembering the somewhat irregular rhythm of dochmiacs. Not that I've needed to remember them for nearly half a century, and I don't suppose I had all that much to do with them at the time.

Wiring colours in the UK changed in 2006. :hmm:

Officially, but the new ones had been in use since, well, George Brown was a live wire.

In the current system, brown is live.

I've not had to rewire a plug for decades. It used to be something you had to do more often when I was younger. I guess I remember how to do it as its like riding a bike.

I always had "Some Old Cats Are Horrible To Other Animals" for trig.

The rhythm ome is awesome, I never remember how to spell that!
