Oh yes I see what you mean. I focused on Tottenham for boardwar reasons (I'm sure you understand).

But I do believe (and from memory of reading it some time back) that it was Tottenham that got voted out and Arsenal took their place in the First Div.

Norris basically held this over them if they didnt vote for Arsenal to re-join the top division. Voting was a legitimate way for teams to be promoted and relegated.

So, it was Liverpool and Man U transpiring against Tottenham that was the corrupt bit. Norris just took advantage of their improper conduct against them.

Although religating Tottenham should NEVER be seen as corrupt (IMHO)...

You should read the rest of the posts I made. I realised my mistake and clarified that it was Tottenham that got relegated to be replaced by Arsenal.

I really ned to re-read the history. But the 1stDIV had expanded and could have accommodated Tottenham. Norris saw an end to that.
