Eduardo charged

Arsen Wengers just said in the press conf' that from now on they'll be appealing every refs decision they feel was influenced by cheating.

Remember the foul out side the box by Toure on a LIverpool player who went on and decided to fall in the box (Champs League, quarter final)?

No thought not.

That put us out of the comp.
Wenger brought up that one by Babel and said it was a dive!. No way was it and no way was it outside the box.

Hope they crack down on Everton now.

A really very interesting development from UEFA. There are a lot of issues here.

Though, as I mentioned in the other thread, the punishent hardly fits the crime - a two match ban for one player vs. possibly not qualifying for the Chapions League group stage because of a dive?

Agreed, lots of issues - not only why one team should be punished for the offence (and I'm all for diving being considered just that) and others get away scot-free (no pun intended).

Across the board or not at all. It's not like we need a test case, specify a policy and stick to it.

eta: adopt the Scottish policy of retrospective punishment if needed, just make it policy and not a reaction.

I havent seen the dive (i sound like wenger there) :D

Was it because he was afraid of getting his leg snapped again, or was it a proper Gerrard both arms in the air i've been shot type of thing?

It was a the keeper is coming sliding out with his arms outstretched and blates is going to take me down so ill just start falling over before he touches me to make it look good FUCK he moved his arm out the way and didn't touch me, ooops, i'm on the floor.

It was actually a pretty slick dive to be honest. He was running out of space, the goalkeepers apparent arm was a bit of a gift and it was a fluid motion. None of this going down like a hunter's shot Bambi in the legs five yards after the event.

Surely it is obvious that the only just punishment would be if they banned Eduardo for two games; replayed the game at a neutral ground - Hampden, maybe? - and wiped out the two goal lead for Arsenal from the first leg?

Anything less than that and I'm sniffing yet another big 4 conspiracy.

If you look at the reverse angle then you'll see that he was off balance and trying to side foot the ball with his left foot, the ball was too far for him to make contact and he decided to go down.

No pen.

Oh yes, Bobby was bad! Mind you we had Jurgen but at least he was savvy enough to make a joke out of it, great self PR

All of football lives in a glass house.

Can of worms...Big fat fuckoff ones too.

The next few weeks should be fun, now that AW's got the hump...:D

What are you on about, he lost balance because Toure was climbing all over the back of him.

The head of the scotch FA doesn't like divers. Quite why he doesn't ban scotish league players(or ask uefa to or however it would need to work) for diving retrospectivly is anyones guess.

dave

C#^*%c wouldn't be able to field a team if they banned any divers.

Samaras isn't a diver. After watching him for City I can confirm he's just not very steady on his feet and is as likely to fall over in the centre circle of his accord just as easily as in an opponent's penalty area.

I think it would be useful to partition that sort of dive seperately to dives to win free kicks or penalties.

Where I find diving for penalties cynical I find that totally contempible. Pretending to be upended against pretending to be injured.

Again, Christ knows why this is being singled out.

Fine. So cheating goes on all the time, but lets not start doing anything about it because we dont want to single one event out!!

They were just saying on Talksport that the good thing about Bloodgate was that rugby fans couldnt come on radio saying that football could take a lesson from rugby. Well I think football probably could, as a result of bloodgate. By banning players for 12 months and a coach for 3 years worldwide rugby have atleast taken steps to ensure that it never happens again.

If football is serious about cleaning up football then they will start banning players for lengthy periods, instead of fining them stupid amounts that they earn in less time tahn it takes to fart.

ban Eduardo til xmas, without pay, and you can guarantee that diving will cease overnight.

uefa can't ban edwuardo from premiership games only champions league. And danm sure have no say about wages.

And and blood gate dude is now down to 4 months for good behaviour(snitching) & most importently, diving is a bit less severe then the whole blood capsule thing which was premeditated)by coach/physios anyway) and very very cuntish.

What was bllodgate trying to achieve tho? To get a player onto the field who would be better at taking a kick, IF they got a penalty. Eduardo ensured that they got a penalty in the first place.
