EDL demo Leeds October 31st

Sorry that wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at durutti. Badly written post.

I was quoting you because I agreed with what you said, especially the bit in bold.

Why are you so obsessed with what this lot have to say? It's pathetic. Just go out an get yourself casualed up and pose in front of the mirror for while to get it out of your system.
obessesed? i was out leafletting locally last saturday when they were all demonstrating ( and fighting in london) :D and nicely casually dressed if i might say so myself ;)

But if you can't see that EDL symbolise something important, the loss of not just the racist w/c and m/c to the far right and reaction, but also potentally a massive section of 'ordinary british people' ( yes that is cliche i know) then i don't know what to say.

btw what you you think is important?

6 months ago I would never have bought this analysis, but there does seem to be truth to it now. For me it reflects less on the validity of fascist narrative, more on the gullibility, bitterness and downright stupidity of a desperate faction of our population. Classic products of alienation and political dumbing down.

Sure, the left have failed to make hay in the circs, but the left dont have the mainstream talking up them and their causes on a consistent basis.

Blame the working class or blame the media but don't blame the left sort of analysis?

The BUF had far more behind it including the Daily Mail but the Communist Party ,unlike the 'left' we have today , had some roots in the working class and was able to go toe to toe with the BUF in working class communities.

I like these points, the one in bold in particular.

To be honest analysis, left, @, or independent is totally useless. The left & @ have forgotten praxis beyond their irrelevant pure groups. They really do not know how to be part of class consciousness and movement.

Can you stop using the term Praxis? No one but you knows what you are going on about.

I use a term when it is relevant. If you (aimed at all) do not know what it is, then perhaps you should learn. It is essential for radical politics. If you think that all there is, is 'theory' over here and 'practice' over there, you are mistaken.

i think the only way the Govt would get really worried about the EDL is if they started banging on about workers rights and exposed all this agency /scab shit and what the post office workers and many others have to put up with - pay cuts , unpaid overtime etc.

Hasn't got the government worried about the left has it?! :D
