I agree with all that, and apply similar tactics/analysis when talking to the BNP membership/soft support.

"Last night, without our knowledge, Islam4UK cancelled their march through London and we were left with a technical victory today. As the day went on people started leaving/moving to other places in London. We heard that the EDL were down the road singing anti German songs and singing songs with messages basically saying that the people of Dresden deserved what they got in the Dresden bombings. About 15 of us that was left went down there and got ourselves and pint and had a conversation with some of the EDL. The youth were there, including their leader Joel, and the older lot were there too. Somehow, something kicked off about the EDL being pro zionists and supporting Jews, and we opposed it, we were all outside and they started chanting "C18 Nazis". We 15 ended up kicking off with about 50 - 60 EDL, who were throwing fire extinguishers, pint glasses, bottles, and various other things. We stood our ground to a point but had to disperse. After getting away through Trafalger Square we heard screams and looked around. One of our C18 brothers had been smashed around the back of the head and had fallen flat out on the road unconscious, drowning in a pool of blood. 10 minutes later coming back to the scene, he was still laying there and was cornered off with police tape."
 
The best thing about the different right wing protest groups, is give them long enough and sooner or later they will start beating each other up :cool:

Finally some more reports, I was banned from a left board and called a fascist troll for trying to bring this to people's attention yesterday. :facepalm:

The vid echos my thoughts.

When dozens are shouting "you can stick your fucking allah up your arse", when there are plenty of "no more mosques" placards it is pretty clear that islamaphobia per se is the order of the day, not anti extremism.

If some of the organisers are a bit pissed off it is running away from their control then like I say they should have thought about that before presenting it in a certain way.

Bascially, lots of EDLers are either doublethink liars or naive dupes.

Not sure we should read too much into EDL vs c18 -eg : in George Marshall Skins book, theres a long chapter on the Tilbury skins who used to have it with the Briitish Movement all the time at gigs, but were dedicated 'paki bashers ' as well - this EDL vs C18 sounds like a similar and complicated mixture of tribal / subcultural loyalty, general anti - politico stance, and of course a good toe to toe after a day on the lash with little else going on . Not time for joint community initiatives quite yet I suspect ....

You may hate the EDL but you need to look at it in an 'the enemy of my enemy' kind of way, we are already making changes, we are getting noticed. Once our non-racist stance is confirmed we will get even more popular support and might, just might be part of the force that helps to save our country.

AND OUR RACE.

Every man is entitled to his opinion, I respect your right to yours but we need to end the infighting. Please stop seig heiling at our demos, it is counter productive and will help to destroy the best chance we currently have. We have National Socialists at our demos, we know they are there they have told us on our forum but they blend in, don't salute and leave their politics at home for the common good.

The NS that have made themselves known on our forum and have been respectful of our views have been welcomed, our movement is apolitical. I am right wing, I stand with centrist and left wing that share my views on this particular issue, I will happily stand with the far right too.

We need a quiet truce, neither of us need a war. That is coming anyway, nothing can be done to avoid that now, we are already in the early stages. We need to build public support and strength, like it or not I believe the EDL is the best chance our country currently has.

Please, no more fighting and no more seig heiling at EDL demos if you turn up. It will probably destroy the movement and then our grandchildren will either be headless or praying to Mecca.

Yea, EDL are not particular bothered about going out finding fash to fight. This guy is obviously on the Islamaphobic wing of their organization. I just can't understand given the current economic mess they are in how they could possibly see this as the most important problem? On another planent.

Things have moved on since George Marshalls book. But yeah some edl supporters might be slightly racist and violent. But a lot of them would be happy to sing 10 german bombers and two world wars and one world cup....and laugh at the nazis.......

A lot of the effective anti fascists in the 80s and 90s were x football hooligans and/or x skinheads.

If people in the edl got involved in anti fascism then the BNP would genuinelly have something to worry about.

R A /AFA had a fair few skins, but outside of Manchester ( DN etc ) I wouldnt say it seemed there were a lot of Casuals / football lads , at least not when i was knocking about in London

I can tell you there were lots of x football hooligans not only in RA/AFA but militant and the direct action movement. Quite a few of people i knew who went to football and were anti fascist wanted to come out if they knew there was a chance of a row with the BNP/NF.

i thought it wierd that the cardiff boys were pretty quiet on the boards in the build up to, and after the swansea demo. yes maybe cardiff would i win but i guess that a soulcrew-jack row would have defeated the object of the WDL day!! :D in the end they all thought it was a disaster :D

i think it is important .. nazi pro hitler racist politics is never going to get anywhere in this country .. it is a lesson Griffin and the BNP have learnt only too well

EDL represents what could be a much more dangerous middle of the road fascism but one that could be intervened in and scuppered

I can recall a couple of incidents mentioned in the Man City, Brum & Cass Pennants books, why people think casual = right wing is beyond me. Casual's golden age in the 1980s saw quite a few multiracial firms emerging, no wonder Thatcher cracked down.

Of course we shouldn't forget those who graced both the picket lines and the terraces. Heard stories about Sheffield Wednesday lads at Orgreave...

The disaster does go some way to explaining why EDL members are attacking Nazis. Be interesting to see where this leads to.

There are rumours that a few of those caught up in the Hooligans doco on the ICF in 1985 were Militant. A WHammer mate certainly knew a few ICF who were more than happy to join anti-fash stuff and went to Wapping.

Obviously, some of the Celtic Casuals have a solid anti-fascist pedigree.

Via a fash site, heard that the Leeds Service Crew were now antifascist as well. Any evidence of this last weekend?
