Eating the crusts

Had one of those from Pizza Hut recently when alcohol was clouding my judgement.

:D

Tbh, I'm not sure you could describe what was in the crust as 'cheese', that's for sure. It was like moulded rubber.

I think it's some sort of incredibly thick cheese "sauce" i.e. cheese mixed with cement powder. ;)

Twelve and a half year thread bump! Epic bumping!

Mrs Dess doesn't like crusts so I always cut them off for her. Her hair is straight.

A good thicc crust is a wonderful thing. Hafta race in our house to get them.

I heard it was white hair and curly teeth, though. Progressing nicely with former; eagerly awaiting advent of latter.

I like crusts. There's nothing nicer than the traditional baked loaf with its chewy crust, contrasting with the doughy fluffiness of the bread interior.

The expression "upper crust" alledgedly comes from who used to get the non-burnt parts of the loaf ... also, the wealthy would eat from bread "planchers" instead of plates and the peasants would get them after the meal.

Oops "trencher" :)

A trencher (from Old French tranchier; "to cut") is a type of tableware, commonly used in medieval cuisine. A trencher was originally a flat round of bread used as a plate, upon which the food could be placed to eat.

Edit2:-
Modern day actual "planchers"
We Want Plates

Edit 3. apparently the "upper crust" thing is bollocks.
I was conned by Lucy Worsley :p

I’ll sometimes stand at the bin eating the kid’s uneaten dry crusts rather than throw them in. It can be a bit of a downer but then I think of the starving children in Africa and I know it’s all worthwhile.
