This is a go9is a perfect time to repeat my oft said mantra....the forum and any of its threads have absolutely nothing to do with me and everything to dow ith the listed subjects.
If anyone has a problem with me, please relegate it to PM, compla9in to a MOD, or simply place me on ignore and perhaps in this way what could be a grand forum will really be a worthwhile endeavour.
I am sure this post will merely eleicit more insults but I mean what I say. It seems like we have other voices of reason here, I am hoping they become the majority and then maybe this really will become a forum worth partcipating in.

Actually, I have never taken anti-psychotic or any other type of psychotropic medicines. I am on one prescriptpion, methadone (when in the US or Israel, or morphine when home in the Philippines) but that does not effect my intellectual capabilities. I am quite honest, as you can see by my admission, and instead of trying to be cute behind childish names like bluestreak, hipipol, or grandma, I aim for adult discourse. Of course not everyone ios going to post under their real name and give their real address but it should be indicative enough for those posessing a modicum of logic that I am offering as much of myself as humanly possible. Ergo, who would be the troll, the honest man or the kid with a made up name?

I've seen stupider titles to threads. I don't think the title matters, just the content of the thread.
Hippol: I love Israeal and still have a house there. I am amrried to a convert though and her home is Mindanao. My parents are dead, her large family is very much intact and when we married I swore to her parents that when I left the army we would move home to Mindanao (we also have a house in Cebu) to begin making our family. I left the army almost a year to the day so there it is in condensed fashion.
The IDF got me om MMT and is also home to one of the highest per capita rates of heroin addiction in the world . Mindanao on the other hand has absolutely no illicit opiates or opioids. Only 4 forms are on the licit market, 5 if you include that horrid Nabulphine and only a small percentage of MDs can even prescribe them. Luckily I have a willing MD.
Ergo, I am not in Mindanao (when there) because of drugs but because I love my wife and wish to make her happy. After so many years my economic interests are tied up there as well so it is more like home except for the allegiance then anywhere else.
Opiates do not effect thinking, they effect motor skills and response time. One remains quite cognizant unless they overdose. I became addicted in the Army, in combat, at age 17. I am now 41 so I am quite adept at living my life.
So my honesty is an attempt to excuse the entire Israeli Govt. of the crimes you imagine it is guilty of? Quite theory. I give credit where it is due and you for one certainly have an active imagination. Bravo.

I did audit (although you do not believe, if I recall correctly that he allowed auditing - he certainly did at least before the whole Mid-East nonsense swept the campus) Said's class but my record is thus: Aside from Officer and Military Colleges, Tehnichon, NYU, finally degreed at Ithaca because NYU did not have my forte, Ethno-Botany. Started out in Anthropology though and hope to return and finish my Masters. Part of what I am trying to decide here in the US actually. My wife is on her second degree already and I am just floating around but I am sure things could be worse, right?

If only academics did not seek respect outside of their genre based on the respect garnered in their degreed genre, is my point even being conveyed? I do not know.

I've read enough of your posts here now to know that you are honest, so I do belıeve that you audıted one of Saıd's courses. He dıdn't allow audıtors ın the courses I took wıth hım, but he must have changed hıs polıcy. Hıs chıldhood was dıvıded between Jerusalem and Caıro, but hıs famıly was certaınly from Palestıne. The stone-throwıng was a symbolıc gesture of solıdarıty, whıch seemed faır enough to me--gıven hıs background one couldn't expect hım to have any other sympathıes, and he was never one of those who advocated the destructıon of Israel.
As you recognıze, hıs academıc work ıs truly excellent. Do you know ''Orıentalısm?'' It pretty much ınvented the entıre dıscıplıne of post-colonıal studıes.
