how does an argument about passionate fans translate to where managers come from...clueless, I tire of this... Newcastle fans are pathetic like their pathetic little club...agree to disagree sweet tits:)

still waiting for your response?

OK - let's move on to another question.....

In the last 30 years - name a Southern manager who has taken their team to win the English top league.

Ok bellend...you win... the best managers don't come from the South, invariably they come from Scotland or Europe...therefore Northern fans are the most passionate..the amazing and cunning logic defeats me....worked over by a genius and defeated I hang my head in shame:rolleyes:

It was never a question of me winning.

I was ridiculing your comment about Northern football.

Now you are pityfully trying to retract by going overseas.:D

Still waiting for your answers by the way...

Well, in the last twenty years, no Englishmen at all, if I can remember and use google properly. A sad state of affairs.

My dodgy and probably wrong list of Premiership/1st div winners:

Mourinho
Wenger
Ferguson
Graham
Dalglish
Fagan (English) - '83? The last Englishman to do so, if memory serves correctly.
Saunders (English)
Paisley (English)
Cloughie (English)

By the way - we are talking about England - English etc..- not overseas

nice work mattie....

Fagan - Northern
Saunders - Northern
Paisley - Northern
Cloughie - Northern.

Will forgive you for forgetting the last English manager to win it...

Wilkinson - Northern

:D

conclusive proof that northern fans are the most passionate:rolleyes:

the brilliant surrey response....incorrect from the start...as for football being greater up north b*llocks...football is a universal passion, just sometimes seems that way as there is f*ck all else going on in that desolate wasteland :)

Wilkinson, knew I was forgetting somebody. Saying that, he's easily the most forgettable of the lot.

right so that's managers....

Let's now look at the clubs....

apart from Arsenal and the bank rolled Chelsea.

who was the last Southern(South of Watford Gap) club to win the top flight league? And when was it?

I think Villa should be thought of as Southern, if we're going for the north/south divide here.

Still upset by West Ham blowing it (bad pun, but unintentional) in '86

I used to get homesick when I used to watch the home matches. A fat geordie with his shirt off in the middle of winter, its a beautiful site, one that moves you. FWIW I have lived all over the country and the fans that are as loyal and 'good' as geordies are Portsmouth fans, they love their club no matter what

Southern? Fuck that shit! Don't lump us in with those cockney wankers!

Midlands!

Exactly.

The point by Drink was that Northern football being better is bollocks.

He is of course talking shite. (which is pretty much standard for Man Utd fans)

More Midlands clubs have won the league titles in the last 40 odd years - than Southern clubs...

Villa, Derby, Forest, v Arsenal, Chelsea (through bankrolling) and ok - lets go back over 40 years - Spurs (1961)....

We'll call it a draw eh!?

Take out Ipswich who won it in 1962 and the rest are NORTHERN clubs.

A Manc on the boards that supports Man Utd...

:D

Very refreshing.

So, do you think Drink is talking out of his arse?

*puts on diplomatic hat*

Recent Northern dominance may have coloured opinions, but on the whole, if memory serves, you can't pick one specifically over the other...

Unless it's a wholly partisan choice. Of course, we footy fans would never, ever do that.

:D

Iam - recent times - let's look at the whole history of the English league - who has won it.

I've marked the Northern clubs in bold - Southerners in Blue - Midlanders in red and the East Anglian types in a weird colour....

:D

so, you still think Drink isn't talking shite...

Liverpool 27
London 18
Manchester 17
Birmingham 7
Sunderland 6
Sheffield 5
Newcastle 4
Blackburn 3
Huddersfield 3
Leeds 3
Wolverhampton 3
Burnley 2
Derby 2
Portsmouth 2
Preston 2
Ipswich 1
Nottingham 1
West Bromwich 1

I've just gone back and read it all properly...

:o

I thought he said Northern footy was better.

I see the error of my ways, now. Taunt away.

:)

I would say northern football was better...it was never my point to say it wasn't

I never said northern football wasn't better... though I might have phrased poorly;)

for football being greater up north b*llocks...football is a universal passion,

the comment was about passion and fans not quality of teams.... knobhead picked up on poor english though the universal passion immediately after might have given some insight into my point that I was disputing his assertion that northern fans are more passionate....and hence later confusion as to how great managers equated to passion?.... which was what we were debating from the start..

hey ho I'm off home...hope liverpool lose and anfield gets hit by an earthquake ...enjoy f*ckers ;)
