Wot, curlyhaired funkytied amiable loser Nigel?
Yes the boy dun good :D
It just goes to show what those eastenders can do if they put their mind to it. :)

Oh jailbound Chrissy
your boobs defy gravity
give us a go then

I'm inspired to write haikus in every post now

I know I had a beer tonight and I was tired after getting up early for my early morning walk plus working all day....but I thought it was quite good tonight. :)

Go for it Sharon. :)

I hate Ian sooooo much.

Ooh Zoe will be in for it now, so she will be back and i bet she gets off with Grant....

most cctv cameras are video only and no way that clear. also tape confession is no good in court. circumstansial evidence!

What do people think to tonight's episide? I liked it, and blubbed - really!
I thought it was quite a brave thing for the scriptwriters to do, but i fear it might get a panning in the press.

I don't get it. If Nana Moon only gave birth to one son how are Jake etc Alfies cousins?
oh thank god I wasn't the only one thinking that.

I guess they're actually the cousins (or 2nd cousins) of alfie's parents (ie - william moon's brother's grandchildren)... but they call her Nana, and that's wrong!

anyway, it made me cry too, but at the same time i knew it was cack - I cry very easily. :o

My little girl cried and cried watching that! She even had to leave the room at one point

I thought the bit about the old chaps in Airline was more moving.

I thought it was very appropriate for armistice day... it really made me think about it... much more than the two minutes' silence which wasn't especially observed where I was!

It was the most moving EE I have ever seen . And the ghost at the end...and visions from the past.

I need to watch a good horror now once I have dried my eyes.

What happened

Alfie took Nana to Normandy to see her William's grave (He died in the D-Day landings) There were several flashbacks - we see a young Nana (Victoria) meet soldier William, then later we see them at a dance and they get together. Victoria then tells her mates at work she's pregnant. William comes home on leave and proposes. Later we see William about to go on the beach at Normandy and he comforts a young lad called Sid who is scared to death.
Back home Victoria gets a "It is my duty to inform you..." telegram...she gives birth to little Alfred (Alfie's Dad) in an Air-raid shelter

Back in 2005 Alfie realises that Nana's not got long - he loses his temper with her at Breakfast when she refuses to eat the meal he's ordered for her.
He goes alone out on to the beach. An old cockney fella follows him and says Alfie was out of order with Nana. There's a bit of a row but then they both start chatting and the old boy says his name's Sid. Alfie walks alone on the beach and the camera pans out to see the ghost of William looking on.

Alfie and Nana make up and go to visit William's grave. She says "I'll being seeing you soon darling" but worries that William won't recognise her because she's grown so old, but he will still be young and beautiful. Alfie reassures her that he will know her.
The End

Well put ;)

I haven't cried watching Eastenders for years. I've felt like it several times because it is so poor. But I caught the flashback episode today and was tearing-up all over the place. Ahhhhhh....... Glad to see I'm not the only silly sod on here :)
