In these modern times, those of us with a full social life can make soaps work for us. Sky + it, spend a relaxing hour and a half watching on Sunday evening rather than the usual shit they put on then.
Exactly. The Sunday morning Corrie omnibus from 7:30-10:00 is a ritual for me. Pot of coffee, a couple of crusty buns with jam and the "Don't Fuck With Me Right Now" sign on the closed home office door. On the rare occasions when I'm committed to something else at that time, I tape the shows for later viewing.
