DVD's of Beeb shows

I would say that, in the age of DVD rentals/copies the following are ESSENTIAL British sitcoms...

Dad's Army (15 Discs inc. Film)
Steptoe & Son (15 Discs inc. Films)
Citizen Smith (6 Discs)
Bottom (3 Discs)
Blackadder (6 Discs)
One Foot in the Grave (12 Discs)
Yes (Prime)Minister (8 Discs)
Porridge/Going Straight (6 Discs inc. Film)

If you took out a 5/6 DVDs at a time rental package, it would only take you a couple of months to amass a reasonable collection

Yuwipi, here's the first epidose of a good new comedy that started last night, set in a London hospital.

Looks promising from the first one.

Getting On :)

Thanks! I'll have a look.

I'm currently borrowing Cracker and the League of Gentlemen.

It's funny, I managed to get my digital television stations to work this week. (The FCC allowed some channels to power up.) I get 8 channels now and there's still nothing on tv.

IDEAL ... I only have four channels on my telly (and one of them is welsh) so did not catch it when it was first on, but have grabbed the DVDs cos i can watch them over and over and still enjoy them (especially late at night with a few mates around who are on the same wavelength)

Cracker is excellent.

Look out for the episode 'To Be A Somebody' where Robert Carlyle plays psychotic serial killer Albie Kinsella and Fitz (Robbie Coltrane) is called in to unlock the mystery behind the killings. It's my favourite episode. A proper classic bit of television screenwriting.
