Dune - were weirding modules in the book?

Read the book(s), watch the movie, the tv series and just let them blend in your head.

Everthing else has probably been said.

Didn't mind the film, didn't like the mini series much i have to say......couldn't put my finger on it.........p'raps i need to watch it again (without a load of people asking me what's going on every five minutes)......

*reminds self to re-read it again soon*

my copy is falling to bits, it very well loved and old !

The film was OK. A bit too many "creative liberties" taken, but overall it worked fine, particularly the imagery. IMO the mini-series lacked proper funding... a lot of the supposedly "outdoors" scenes looked crap and claustrophobic because they were clearly filmed inside a studio in front of a huge canvas, unlike the movie, where Arrakis actually looks like a desert planet. The second series are a lot better in that aspect, and don't look half as cheap.

E2A: Dune is far too complex to be summoned up in 90-minute flicks. I'd rather a properly financed TV mini-series with 6/10 episodes over yet another popcorny CGI crapfest.

I had that problem, but I couldn't just say 'shut it and watch' I got bogged down in overexplaaition that left the poor viewer/questioner with yet more questions till I just hissed 'oh read the fucking book man!'

I don't think the series or the film produced stellar wardrobes TBH...good elements in each, but the BG outfits in the TV series were fucking terrible

Included the scene with Chani's boobs though. So not a total loss

This is true. And a fine scene it is...
