presume you mean on the xbox?

if so, that's why i was saying that the ps3 is more reliable.

there was an interesting piece in grauniad last week about why the xbox is so prone to breaking down, summarised more or less as microsofts desire to maximise profits and their lack of experience with hardware.

the amount isn't the issue it's the exclusives. yes it's got a blu ray player bt if you couldn't give a shit about blu ray then you are left with an overpriced games console that is struggling to get anywhere near it's potential, so much so that for all the talk of it's extra power it still has worse graphics than the 360 on many mulit format releases.

I was very tempted by the PS3 as I think it will turn out to be a great system but at the moment with the price of the 360 it's just not worth buying a PS3, as by the time they get round to exploiting all it's ability Microsoft will have a next generation console in the ready.

No he means the Blu Ray drives on the PS3 are beginnign to pop.

The amount of choice is important. I want GTA4, CoD, Burnout, FIFA 09, all of which are on both systems. Fable 2 doesn't interest me (haven't the time these days for long winded RPGs), and frankly Halo lost me with the boring number 2...

So, what exclusive games does the 360 have that make it worth tolerating it dying easily or it's sound of a small aircraft taking off?

No, PS3. XBox doesn't have a BDVD Drive. (Blue Ray)

you claimed the PS 3 had better games yet you reference ones that are out on the 360, strange.

Gears of War is excellent, far better than Halo 3, it's certainly far superior to pap like Resistance.

Anyway I bought a new 360 which are far less likely to breakd down and considering it's price I'm willing to put up with it's noise, especially since the hard drive installation will reduce it considerably.

There's no getting away from the fact that 300 quid is just too expensive for a games console if you don't care for Blu Ray, nor the small matter of the PS3 having worse graphics in many multi format games than the 360 (GTAIV and FallOut 3 being the two big ones).
 
Oh right, well that's off the list. 3rd person shooters are pointless imo. I meant better as in better looking.

Fable II, Gears of War 1 & 2, Halo, Alan Wake, Cryostasis, the Xbox back catalogue.

Anyway, my point wasn't that it had more, simply that the PS3 is twice the price and doesn't have enough exclusives to justify the purchase. Most PS3 exclusives end up going cross-platform.

Anyway, I'm not a 360 fanboy, I game on my PC. I just think that the 360 is a much more worthwhile purchase.

Seems a silly point of view, dismissing a number of titles based on the view. Give Dead Space a go, then claim they're pointless!

Besides, Gears of War is fucking great.

I've played plenty over the years and they just don't seem to have the same immediacy that a true FPS have...

I had an Xbox; apart from Black there really isn't anything I'd like to play again. Fable 2, played the first one and it bored me but then not an RPG fan anymore. Halo...first one was great, 2nd boring, can't be bothered with number 3. Don't know Alan Wake or Cryostasis so couldn't comment...

Fair play but for the world at large, it's more of an issue.

Play Halo 3 because its by far the best of the 3, its starts off pretty much the same but gets better and better as you get into it.

As a media centre the 360 is fail. Their answer to the failure of the machine with red rings of death, is to install turbo fans in it with no regard to how loud they are. I thought my old XBox was bad but that's near silent compared to my 360.
