Dumb iTunes question

People constantly tell me how great iTunes is, how any other music library app is inferior.

Every time I see one of these threads, it becomes increasingly clear that iTunes is bollocks.

Brilliant - thanks - that's saved me loads of time!

ETA: I'll still have to go through my iTunes folder to delete the files there, won't I? Or does that programme corral the files in the folder too?

Can't say I've used it so I don't know. But any decent program should be able to do this for you.

I think it's just the one you get used to and it's the default player for a Mac of course. If there are superior players out there that I can use with my Macbook and iPod, I'd be grateful for suggestions, though I'd only be tempted if it was very easy to switch from one to another with a very simple set of instructions.

While we're on the subject, can someone recommend a decent freeware program for mac to find all album artwork?

I haven't found a decent one for mac yet BUT while looking for a program which will add track info by analysing the audio, I came accross this freeware app which is currently only available to Windows versions of iTunes but they will be releasing a mac version in the near future.

I will definitely be getting this when its available for mac.

While we are speaking about i-tunes I wonder if anyone can help
with this problem. Well, two problems actually...

When I play a song many times and then I don't play it for a few
months it might go from 50 plays down to 1 play? Does anyone know
why?

And also if I had picked how much I like it for, then that info
won't seem to show weeks later. So, it means then I can't instantly
find out which are my top rated songs. Before I could vote from 1-5
for how much I liked the song, which was useful for playing my fave
songs.

Dunno - I never rate anything - I don't see the point. Don't see the point of seeing how many times you've played something either
