Obviously this fixture must be doubtful due to the weather. More snow forecast for this afternoon, then it should start getting warmer tomorrow, but maybe 24 hours too late. However we haven't lost a Saturday home game to the weather for 4 years, and the last two we lost were both on days when every other match in the division was off, so if anything on a grass pitch survives there may be a chance .

What are conditions like in Zone 2? Still three or four inches lying here.

Hard to say without seeing the pitch. Margate v Kingstonian on a 3G pitch was called off 24 hours ago due to dangerous travelling conditions while Harlow have travelled to play at Folkestone on grass. That doesn't add up.

Just because the snow thraws does not mean the pitch is not still frozen due to deep frost. The correct decision was made.

Advice from Groundsman was that frost was 5 inches into ground so there was no chance even if snow melted. Also advised likely pitch would be damaged irreparably if snow was removed as it was frozen to pitch. On that basis decision was taken.
