Dulwich Hamlet V FC Assyria (Wednesday 9th March)

One of the rather fine Philosophy Football shirts dropped through my door this morning courtesy of PartisanDulwich - thank you for that PD, much appreciated and the right size!
I will give it a run out this afternoon in the hope that it supplements the waning power of my 'lucky' socks.

In case anyone isn't aware, a lot of the requested food items can be found in the specialist Asian/Caribbean/Polish foods sections of Sainsbury's outlets, which are often much cheaper than similar mainstream brands. Large bags of spices are far cheaper than the little jars of Schwartz or supermarket own brand variants; tinned tomatoes are far cheaper than the likes of Napolina, and still a little cheaper than supermarket own brand. I've recently discovered you can get some real bargains by looking here. No doubt they can also be obtained cheaply from specialist shops serving those communities, but if anyone intends popping into Sainsbury's before kick off to fill a bag it's worth looking at those sections.

Yes...pay on the gate!
Advance tickets were produced because they were designed and printed for no charge by DIGITAL COPY www.dcopy.co.uk and we meant we could sell them outside the club to people who wanted to support the cause...but weren't going to, or had no intention of, going to the match.

Weather forecast tonight
windy, cold and rain showers - so wrap up warm
maybe I will venture into TOS from behind the goal as heckling not so much required tonight

Unfortunately the rain has beaten us, There's lots of puddles still on the pitch not draining and with more heavy rain forecast around kickoff time the decision has been taken to postpone the game this evening. A new date will soon be arranged and Dulwich aim to get the game played ASAP, hopefully next Wednesday. Tickets purchased will of course be valid for the new date. Sorry.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I'll tweet the bad news.

And due to piss down tonight...the pitch had standing water earlier.

Gutted it's off, but maybe better weather next week, which might mean more through the gate, and all that.

Every cloud doesn't just have rain, but a silver lining....

Does anyone know how many turned up last night, because they didn't hear it had been cancelled

Really hope we got to most

Please decision taken while people could be emailed at work etc

Really need to try and build this up again and encourage a high attendance
