Dulwich Hamlet FC v Cheshunt FC (FA Trophy), Tuesday, 15 Dec 2020 at 7:45 PM

On the whole that was a reasonably efficient win against a Cheshunt side sitting in second place in the Isthmian Premier Division. Craig Edwards' teams are generally awkward to play against, tight at the back and dangerous at set pieces.

The visitors made a strong start and got enough good efforts on target in the first twenty minutes to have made our task very difficult had we not defended with such determination. However once we took the lead through McGregor midway through the half I felt we settled down and controlled the game without too many further alarms at the back until the final minutes. Hamlet doubled the lead in first half stoppage time when Taylor headed home at the far post from a free kick near the corner flag.

It was 3-0 just before the hour when a strong counter-attacking run and perfectly timed cross from McGregor found Mills for a simple finish from six yards out. Hamlet were now well on top but couldn't find the net again and with six minutes left a careless crossfield pass by Moore gave the ball away in our own half leading to Anderson Pinto, one of our pre-season triallists from a few months back, bursting into the box to fire past Grainger. We nearly conceded a second straight from the restart when our defence got into a muddle but thankfully Debrah got across in time to clear the loose ball from in front of an empty net. The referee must have been enjoying himself as he managed to play nearly eight minutes of additional time after indicating a minimum of four but Hamlet managed to see it out without too much trouble.

Team (3-5-2): Grainger - Ming, Vint, Taylor - Moore, McGregor, Timlin(c), Sammut, Barnes - Mills, Henry. Subs: Higgs (for Sammut), Allassani (for Henry), Debrah (for Vint), Barbosa, Thomas, Embalo, Hyde (not used).

Dunno what seetickets are playing at but the cheeky bastards stuffed me out of a quid for some reason.

Same.

Having checked the See Tickets terms and conditions, the booking fee is non-refundable.

If we have another cup match where we have to buy a ticket through them then I probably won’t bother.

I can understand the booking fee but to drop the bulk of the remainder is out of order. I won't be buying any tickets in future.

Have you checked your account? Like I said, I bought two tickets via separate transactions. I’ve had a one email saying one was refunded. But looking in my account both have. It could be that see tickets email system is just a bit shite.

Yes and it's there. No notification from Paypal for the second one. Apologies to Tom, I'll know what to do next time.

i hadn't seen the above posts , and only just got my bank statement . quite surprised people re taking this lyng down . i'll start at the beginning . a £5 concession ticket costs £6.40 , thats a 28% hike straight off . jimbarkanoodle says they'll always keep the booking fee , but there doesn't have to be a booking fee . at the same time , i got tickets for chelsea women : £5 ticket cost £5 . imo , if the club want the convenience of using n agent , they should pay for it . if a player has an agent , wno pays ? anyone know the policy of other clubs at our level ? finally , as a season ticket holder , i was going to waive any potential refund . not so sure , in fact pretty unlikely , now .

Why don’t you just take the £1:40 out of the potential ST refund, and then waive the rest to help the club.

I bought online tickets from Chelmsford for both our visits, because there's a £2 surcharge for paying on the gate, and there was no booking fee. I also bought an online ticket for Dartford last season and the FA Cup tie at Corinthian Casuals, plus neutral visits to Hitchin and Horsham this season. I'm certain none of those clubs charged a booking fee.

Mick are you sure it’s as much as £1.40? Been a while since this was my “baby” so to speak but back in those olden days the booking fee was 8% (I think 🤔) or 40p on a £5 ticket. Then the committee agreed to absorb the booking cost but unfortunately our “friends” at Meadow (remember them?) decided they couldn’t “afford” that and so that the booking fee was tacked on top... In an ideal world that fee could be absorbed again but don’t feel we’re anywhere near that yet. However if it is as much as 28% perhaps Lockdown is the perfect time for the Club to source new providers...

Great idea. Then maybe the unpaid people who run the club and make your match day happen can put up ticket prices next season to recoup the losses. Or maybe start charging for the entirely free live streams.

Even with seetickets fee, the total cost is about the cheapest in the league...?
And the seetickets element is necessary for contact tracing and that, as I understand.

Personally I’m not aware of anyone having an issue with that 8% before. Booking fees will always be a bone of contention, I mean who hasn’t griped about concert or theatre tickets with x quid tacked on top particularly when the actual price of the ticket burns a bloody big hole in your pocket in the first place. Still would have burned a bigger hole in club finances if Meadow’s people had their way and got “a mate” to build a ticket sales programme as was promised...

I would probably try to forget about the £1. People have lost much larger sums of money due to event cancellations associated with Coronavirus. Perspective etc.
I can’t vouch for others experience but every event ticket that has been cancelled since this all started I have had refunded has been refunded in its entirety, booking fee included. I can only assume that (maybe) See Tickets small print only allows for cancelled events not ones that are switched to BCD.. 🤷‍♀️ The only thing that I’ve had problems with were plane tickets booked through Expedia but that’s a horse of a different colour.
