Dulwich Hamlet 3-1 Lowestoft Town - Saturday, 8th April 2017 (Kit Amnesty Game)

Discussion in 'Dulwich Hamlet FC' started by Julian Chenery, Apr 4, 2017.

  1. The Ryman League Premier Division fixture between Dulwich Hamlet & Lowestoft Town this coming Saturday (8th April, 3pm kick-off) will be a Kit Amnesty match where all those attending - players, officials, supporters, are asked to donate an item of old sportswear or equipment if at all possible.

Benefiting will be the African Bible University, Uganda, and the Thembalethu Foundation, Zimbabwe.

If you are attending the game please bring whatever you can be it an old shirt or pair of shorts, socks, boots, trainers, shin pads, gloves, training tops, tracksuits - the list is endless, If in doubt donate!

I will be in the clubhouse where there will be bags for your donations.

    Many thanks for your support.

I have no truck with any religion, to be honest, apart from my own 'Church of Edgar Kail', based at Champion Hill.
But if we judged anything and everything by 'religion' then we would really help very few people.
All I am interested in is donations of goods, that can help extremely poor people in another part of the world. Regardless of their 'misguided' [my word] beliefs.
Lots of Dulwich Hamlet fans are very religious. Lots are in-between. and lots do not believe in religion.

1-0 H/T, Sekajja after 23mins converting a Clunis cross. Not convinced Tomlin as sitting midfielder is working...

2-1. They scored from a corner a couple of minutes after H/T, Dumaka about 5mins later with an absolute screamer.

3-1, after an oppo defender gets sent off for clashing with Dumaka, Green and Camara combine on the break for the latter to score with a nice flick in the six yard box.

With massive credit to the Lowestoft defence for standing off him for what felt like days. Cracking strike though.

comment on Lowestoft Town fan site, also gives some very fair reports on the game

"A healthy attendance of 1806, mostly sporting pink, enjoyed the Spring sunshine and the result, which sees Dulwich almost cement their play off place. It was also noticeable how many families were in attendance and the average age of the crowd was well below 45. How come they manage to engage with a younger crowd when we struggle to get kids through the turnstiles?"

Numerous factors. What we do, what we are about and how we engage. He won't like it but huge respect to Dulwich Mishi and the work and ideas he puts in. We talk and throw all sorts of things into the mix.

Champion hill in the sun, Hamlet winning and a huge joyful and diverse crowd
What a vindication of all the hard work of those who make (and made) it possible

Indeed, I won't like it, I'm just one of many important cogs in the Hamlet wheel that has helped make the Club what we are today.

Did we travel to the future? or was this game played in April, not August?
