Dulwich Hamlet 0-3. Billericay, 25th March 2017. 15:00 KO

They'll have mercenary players lining up to fill their pockets with cash until it all goes tits up.

Their two central defenders did a good job in making sure we didn't score.
They were a efficient team, not pretty by any merit. Shame they were falling over and hassling the ref. I'm surprised they didn't get another red card the amount of times they pushed the ref or linesman around over every decision. We could have done with Wednesday's officials.
Also a pitty konchesky give a sly finger to the fans in the second half , yup he got some abuse but no needed for that.
I thought he played well.

In fairness to Konchesky he didn't, he just showed three fingers to the guys who were trying to wind him up. Like as in goals. Not a likeable team but so much better than us that its not really worth talking about.

ii thought the side looked tired today with all the recent games on top of each other
The wind spoilt the game to a certain degree
Thought they did a job on Dulwich today
Seems in the final hurdle recent years dulwich sides seem to hit a wall, when you look at the gates im now hearing people saying they expect more and sayimg they are naive
I think a bit harsh
Ohara was blowing out of his arse after about 15 mins, seems to have put on a pound a two as well since i last see him playing for millwall
Konchesky you can see as played in proffs fooball the way he hits a ball with a sweet left foot
surprised to see comment above as he was having a few laughs with the crowd second half esp saying he was too old now etc
Amazing the difference between the crowds of millwall and those at Dulwich, sort of nice nice to see no nastiness ha
lets hope they can get over the line re play offs, 1st half they looked completely fked
Still think Dulwich maybe need a big man up front, even if its to come on as a sub for something different

Pains me to say it as their owner/manager/sugardaddy is clearly an astonishing arsehole, but they really had us sussed out today and completely deserved the three points. They had a very solid game plan and they knew exactly what they were doing - press us, run at us, hassle us, and don't give our players a second on the ball. It really knocked us out of our stride and we just couldn't get going. A lot of our players had off-games and no doubt the fixture pile up took its toll as well. Carew was unusually clumsy on the ball, our defence looked frail and the front line just couldn't get into the game. We really, really could have done with Kargbo in that game. On the bright side, Sekajja once again made a big impact when he came on and has looked really confident and effective lately. Important thing for us is to put it behind us and just carry on - I still have every confidence in this side and see today as just a blip. Fortunately, we very rarely come up against teams who play against us the way Billericay did today.

I really hate what's happening at that club - in the long term it'll only be damaging for them, and it's infuriating to see fans seemingly just go along with it and not question it. What a hideous circus of an outfit they are.

We might see the big man on tue :)

No way did they have us "sussed" out. They are going to play this way everytime.

Agree with the comments above in regards to how defensively sound Billericay looked today, but when looking at the personnel in their back 4 it's understandable. Their two CB's were purchased from higher levels Swaine was signed from Bromley and Ellul was one of the CB's who played for East Thurrock in last seasons playoff final. And Konchesky who had been playing in League 1 this season.

Quite an unpleasant and physically strong side, Swaine in particular was involved in a couple off the ball incidents with Dumaka which could have got him in trouble if the ref or assistant linesman had seen either of them, I find it hard to believe that the linesman missed both as he seemed to be looking across the pitch when both happened. Thought the ref looked particularly intimidated by them in the first half.

They were certainly a good team. The recent back log of games looked to have caught up with Dulwich today and it was telling against a very physically strong side. Their keeper made a very good save at 1-0 down from Tomlin I think and a couple of minutes later it was 2-0. Kargbo was a big miss today as he and Beaney give the team a nice platform in central midfield allowing Carew more freedom going forward. Moving Carew back into the deeper midfield position was probably the only option in Kargbo's absence, but Carew's strengths are obviously more attacking than defensive, no criticism of Carew intended. Does anyone know if Kargbo will be back on Tuesday night?

Absolutely agree. I think they'll play the same way whoever they come up against. They're so arrogant they won't bother to work the opposition out.

Even with the Margate's and the Shitehawk's of recent years, I haven't seen anything like Billericay for a long time. It was essentially like we were playing a league side - they made Macclesfield look ordinary. The gulf in calibre between the two sets of players was just incredible. If they do manage to get into the play offs then I can't see anyone stopping them, which is truly sickening.

Tuesday will be a difficult one for Gav. Putting out the Drage's and the Beaney's is almost a waste of time. I'd be tempted to throw the game, put the B team out, rest a few key players, accept defeat and just focus on the games that will actually be a contest between teams of relatively similar ability. Equally I understand that a degree of pride is at stake and although our chances of victory are slim, a win would seriously harm their charge towards the play offs.

Kargbo was missed and I think Ming is a better option at right wing back than Nyren. Hard to evaluate our performance against a set of players that could compete in the Conference. The one enjoyable was their sending off, about which they could have no complaints. An utterly odious side. I look forward to their spectacular implosion with great appetite.

Think themselves lucky. Should have been in the EDT trying to get served with their wanky bar staff.

Kargbo back on Tuesday, we have a chance. Agree Ming needs to come back, would have Weathers in for Taylor too.

Some contrast between Havant and today.

Agree with above, lack of discipline may yet cost them dearly.

To compete with a team like that we need every single player to be at their very best, hope they're collectively not at the top of their game, and have more than a bit of luck.

Given it was our third game in a week and they hadn't played since last weekend, we were running on fumes when they were fresh out of the blocks. On a level playing field it would have been tough, as it was, an impossible task.

Got to say I'm not looking forward to Tuesday, or the possibility of coming up against them in the play-offs - feels like a genuine shame that after a season of hard competition, the league is likely going to get artificially distorted in the final months. Not that they're doing anything wrong of course - if the bloke wants to spend his money like that, so be it. Just a shame they can't buy a bit of class whilst his wallet is open.

Given it was our third game in a week...

Fourth in eight days. It was always going to be tough whoever we played today. We haven't suddenly become a bad team though.

It was certainly a shame that Kargbo couldn't play today. With him, Beaney and Carew playing in their best positions we may have had more of a chance in the midfield. It made sense for Carew to play at 8 and Tomlin 10 but it just didn't work as well. Kargbo's was just the sort of presence we could have done with today. There were similarities with the Macclesfield away game when Beaney was out. That allowed them to target Carew (10) and Kargbo (4) (Taylor was at 8) and stifled any creative play through the centre. Too often today, as then, we were reduced to pretty speculative longer balls, trying to exploit our pace, but with players who certainly had too many miles on the clock this week.

I also think that Weathers (who missed Wednesday to attend a funeral) may have been a better choice at 2. No disrespect to Quade Taylor who is impressive and has certainly grown in stature and confidence as the season has progressed. I just think Weathers has the experience, physical presence and bloody minded application to the task that might have helped the whole team today. He also has a bit of a nack of causing mayhem in the opposition box at set pieces. Having said that it was entirely understandable to retain the defensive formation that performed so well on Weds (I gather - missed it as I was at a school quiz )

Think we're saying the same thing - whether it was our third game in a week and their first, or our fourth game in eight days and their second, either way, we've played a lot more football than them in the same amount of time.

And we absolutely haven't suddenly become a bad team - in the context of the wider league, we're still very much a good team. But we're not going to be the best team over 46 games (that's going to be Bognor or Havant), and if both we and Billericay get into the play offs, we won't be the best team going into the last two games either. Which is not to say we couldn't win them - we'd just have to beat a better set of players to do so.

How many glory hunting nu-fans did Billericay bring down?
Very few if any I'd say, most of those
I saw I either knew from past games wearing old school Ricay shirts they'd owned since the year Dot. May well have been a few Billericay curious amongst the crowd but certainly in ranks of the occasionals rather than the regulars. Didn't get a chance to comment too much on Project Tamplin but the general consensus seemed to be as was bugger all ordinary fans could do they would have to endure the ride no matter how bumpy it might be. The major concern seemed to be the short length of time left on the Mew Lodge lease and the proposed development plans which would allow the local council to throw a huge spanner in the works should they do wish

It was like the East Thurrock play-off again, facing a strong wind in the first half and going three down inside half an hour. Billericay had no flair or flamboyance at all - maybe they tailored their game to suit the conditions, but I doubt it. They're an unattractive team to watch and must be horrible to play against.

I think we'd have had a better chance with Weatherstone, Ming & Kargbo in the side - all three of those would have offered a greater physical presence than their replacements. It's impossible to quantify how much of a factor the four games in eight days thing was, but 46 league matches is far too many for this league. We've only lost one Saturday all season (the frozen pitch farce at Billericay) and a couple of midweek postponements for Barkinside and the Macclesfield replay. In another season we could have lost a couple of early season games due to opponents having an FA Cup run, and could easily have had at least another four or five games washed out or frozen off in a severe winter. If we lose to Tooting and miss the play-offs we'll have played 65 games, which I believe is the same number played by Bognor last season - it could be 69 if we reach the two finals. And this season is a week shorter than last because we began a week later but the play-off final is the same weekend.

Incidentally Billericay's entire starting XI yesterday have only joined since the turn of the year. Their former first choice keeper was on the bench and one other sub (16) has been with them since the start of this season. They'll probably win the play-offs with an entire team of players who've only appeared in 15-20 games or less. They've disfigured the whole season for our division. And their average home attendance is just 369.

Team (3-4-1-2): Edwards - Taylor, Drage, Chambers - Clunis, Carew, Beaney(c), Green - Tomlin - Akinyemi, Dumaka. Subs: Sekajja (for Dumaka), Koroma (for Taylor), Camara (for Beaney), Ming, Weatherstone (not used).

Or maybe not
From the feedback after the game Konch seems to have fitted in rather too well at this level and even indulged in some "banter" with the crowd during the game. After all at this level it's personal and some former pros can't take it

We will beat them in the playoffs.

Voice of reason amongst all this tosh. Horrible team and I had to sling two twats out. We will turn them over on Tuesday.

I'm going out for a walk now but believe you me what happened yesterday will not happen again.

Get behind the team and the club. Be part of the solution and not part of the problem. One or two of our 'fans' lost the plot yesterday.

I disapprove strongly of people losing it with opposition benches.
