The Octagon
Stop...Hammertime
Been once, wouldn't repeat the experience.
About 100+ better places to go in Ireland quite frankly.

I just spent 2 nights in Dublin on a work trip.
Aside from the business angle - some very stimulating training in the field of Irish Health, Safety and Welfare legislation - there was much to commend the city.
Have any other Urbanites visited this attractive and elegant place recently?

I fucking hate Dublin. Horrible, creepy, superficial place. Vile. Full of utter cunts (and idiots on stag/hen doos). Nothing whatsoever going for it apart from Di Fontaines pizza slices and the arts centre is a great live music venue.
For fucks sake Dublin isn't just a couple of square miles on the left bank of liffey. You leave temple bar and theres all this other stuff.
Belfast's a shithole - my mums from there - reminds me of a grim Liverpool. (If there's such a thing). Belfast - where the people are singing, Belfast where the people are living etc etc the people, oh the people believe in(Boney M).
Lived out there for about 7 months last year. Cant say it was the most amazing place in the world , got very bored 3 months into living there.
And bloody expensive!!!
fuck! i'd forgotten about that. most expensive fucking place on the planet. that's another reason to give it a swerve.YEA!!!fuck! i'd forgotten about that. most expensive fucking place on the planet. that's another reason to give it a swerve.
Lisbon is further west. No, just that for some reason I can't explain I feel very warmly disposed towards this, the most Western of European capitals.
Used to be, hasn't been so for a long time, all the good small venues were destroyed. I saw Chico's old band play in one of the last remaining decent places as it happens.Good for live music.

I was in a bar in Bologna a couple of weeks ago and some bloke was telling me he wanted to visit Dublin. I just said don't do it, go to Cork or Galway instead. Thankfully the amount of random swivel eyed wankers I run into braying about their apartment, sorry, investment, in Bulgaria or Krakow or whererever the fuck has diminished markedly.
Nonsense. and that.Funny seeing people say the capital should be Belfast when its not even in the same fucking country.
Clearly there has been some sort of terrible mistake to be sure. What do you mean nonsense? Its a fact!
Its not governed by republic, has international borders, uses pound sterling and is officially defined as being part of the UK. How does that qualify it as being part of the Republic of Ireland?
Noticed that the last few times Ive gone back to Ireland for a few days, dont hear fuck all about the 2nd appartment in E Europe,do hear a lot of whinging about E.Europeans working over here.I usually get some gobshite telling me they should all fuck off back to Poland or whereever now that the Celtic Tiger has shuffled off the mortal coil,I tend to point out that since these countries are in the EEC their citizens have every right to be here.Thankfully the amount of random swivel eyed wankers I run into braying about their apartment, sorry, investment, in Bulgaria or Krakow or whererever the fuck has diminished markedly.
Yup such a rapid and spectacular rise must be followed by a similar fall.
