heard it on a ron hardy mix cassette frpm the musicbox, not really too dubby but fucking cool
'79, but fuck it eh?
more italo disco instrumentals than dubby but all from 1983 or before - 2hr + long comp
I have really been going all out on random youtube searches, weed certainly helps. I have uncovered some real gems. Gonna try and put a new mix together with some of them.
got this one on repeat, such a great guitar riff
another classic, I think Fez909 mentioned it in another thread a while back.
dj harvey recently dropped it in his boiler room set too
Just been re-pressed on Isle of Jura records if you're after it. It's been £250 on Discogs since I first heard of it (killer b played it in Fishco). Quality tune
I have the original 12, i have had it for about 9 years now, before it became fashionable and a stupid price just because harvey dropped it.
I saw loads of people quoting Jamie Jones ( ) for the reason it got so trendy. He played it in his essential mix in 2009.
another quality tune here, very smooth with a real nice analogue bassline.
this is a great one, nice tempo, chuggin' with clattering percussion set over a chunky analogue basline
I'm sure the idjut boys have done a version of this?
I loved this one, the guys at nuphonic/tirk sent me the sampler of this and I booked greg wilson to play at one of my gigs just on the strength of this tune.
I think this is one of my all time favourites. I remember buying the album, super black market clash, which was 3 ten inch vinyls mainly consisting of b-sides. I think i was about 15/16, i asked my dad to get it for me from a stall on a market somewhere in london.
It was this tune that inspired me, the way it is put together, the instrumentation and the overall fluidity of the track just makes it stand out, plus it's one f-ing funky number to boot!
not entirely sure this one is an 80s tune but it is certainly dubby and has a real groovy hook to it, from none other than the police!
The Tom Tom club, which are a kind of side/follow on project of the talking heads, one of my favourite bands so I naturally checked these guys out and this tune is class.
love this, can't stop listening, like a cross between reggae & disco
going over this thread, some great posts!
found some more cool dubby 80s (esq) tunes to post, not all electronic either!
nice one from prima volta, never heard of em before but this track was pointed out to me, it does the job, nice n slow and dubby.
fav of mine for a long time, actually working on an edit of this.
absolute killer, still dropping it out.
loving the guitar half way through, lifts the track.
new find, just scrapes in having been released in 91
Everything I dipped in to on this thread has been wicked! I need to spend a couple of concentrated hours on it soon
ethnic acid disco dub?
Terje is smashing it, his edit of the Yarbirds - For Your Love is a absolute killer, but not really dubby or 80s.
more of the same, straying away from original 80s tunes with contemporary edits but still cool.
Yello, You gotta say yes to another excess!
not heard this version before but the original was 82
Proper ace this one, maybe my fav Yello tune altho Greg Wilson's edit of Lost Again was played to death when I got it.
Those Krafty Germans!
