Love this kind of stuff, here's a couple of favourites, from 1983 & 1981 -
More dubby please,
Loving the Was (not Was) tune, right up my street Squelch.
logic system - automatic collect, automatic correct
bit more funk than dub, but I want to post it anyway as it's ace
funky dub; a nice chugger, a hit of the day and still very playable now.
ryuchi sakamoto - das neue japanische eletronische volkslied
although, apparently this is 1978, so should probably be discounted. 1978 ffs?!
this is awesome
that's a rogers/edwards production. most romantic song about anal sex ever. (old old joke)
sounds like some of the stuff Fabi Paras was doing in the early 90s
This is class imo, proper par-tay tunage.
Did he also dj at the gardening club mid nineties?
he sure did. disappeared off the face of the earth.
he did all that prog tribal shiva shanti stuff that i think blagsta's talking about.
i daren't revisit on youtube cos i've a feeling that it may be poo in hindsight.
willesden dodgers - gunsmoke breakout
the original 10 min long version that came out in 87 is the one you want of this but thats not on Youtube
damn that bassline is
Just qualifies, being 1980. Shoes For Industry - Sheep Dog Trial Inna Babylon.
nice one never heard that one b4... its been ripped off tho, i know that, check it out....
edit: hmmm not showing... here is the link
Killing Joke - Turn to Red
Less funky, more dubby
liking the killing joke tune.
the Clash, magnificent seven, altho I think this is a reedit as it's not the same version I have on my superblackmarket vinyl.
Top quality instrumentation and programming on this track.
Nina Hagen - African Reggae....dope dope record.
Not on a proper computer so I can't post a clip, but gwen guthrie's 'hopscotch' is what you seek.
Cabaret Voltaire - Yashar
New Age Steppers - Fade Away
Renegade Soundwave - Cocaine Sex
been checking out was (not was) after that excellent post here earlier and discovered this gem.
bit disco but dubby in places and a nice chugging rhythm.
Eddie grant's original version of 'walking on sunshine' should be on you list too.
gonna do and ableton mash up of this genre, all the darker more sparse stuff, prob gonna throw a few of the tracks posted here and some killers that I've been keeping to myself. watch out!
like the rockers revenge version too, the intro always floats so nice over the mix.
You should check out the willesden dodgers version (on the jive rhythm tracks album - I think it's called '112 bpm') - it's a proper dark minimal version.
aww, that's a good tune, but I wasn't after dub, otherwise i would of posted a load of lee perry up (top 80's dub!)
