Dubai

Not seen much of the place to be honest. Stuck in the trade centre at the moment and fucking lazy.

Got some free time tomorrow so going to look at fishes in the mall.

It is an interesting place. On the whole the folk seem friendly but the rich/poor divide is quite brutal.

Interesting but pointless observation. People are really loud on phones here. Everyone seems to have a blaring ringtone and a lot of LOUD conversations on speaker in restaurants/bars and such.

Did no one suggest playing in the sand? Make sand castles or go for a blast over the dunes, perhaps even make a new island in the bay.

Walk around a shopping mall. Don’t buy anything. Stay in the hotel.

That’s about it really.

A country that’s best feature is expensive shopping malls that should tell you all you need to know

Badgers How was your trip?
Bumping this thread because I'm about to go to Dubai for a month (work). If anyone has any advice on cheap and delicious places to eat and anything non shopping centre related to do, I'd love to hear it. If you're just going to say "'it's shit, I hated it", please don't.

Not a bad shout and I won't be buying a ticket anytime soon but I bet Riyadh has a few more ancient ruins and stuff to see whereas Dubai just seems pointless. It was a fishing village a couple of hundred years ago. Is there anything to see except hotels and shopping centres?
