Dubai is utterly bonkers, no other word for it. If I didn't know better I'd assume the Sheikh and his cohorts were imbibing all the drugs they confiscated from unlucky travellers.

Apparently 'The World' thing was his personal idea, I wouldnt be surprised if this was too.

Probably!

On the family tree I looked at (the one they don't release to the general public) there are plenty of deaths from alcohol and misadventure etc etc

One of the ruler of the UAE's relatives is up for assault at the moment, having battered some guy he made drunken gay advances to in a hotel.

They behave exactly like you would expect people with that kind of money and legal immunity to behave. Just that in their case it galls a bit more due to their pretense at Islamic piousness and the law's treatment of those who commit minor transgressions but aren't lucky enough to be well connected.

Of course, this is the minority, but still.....

The artists impression shows a couple of pics with the floors all straight or with a nice syncronised twist.

In reality its allways going to look like the jumbled rubix cube pic with no floor do-ordinating with the other floors.

I think it would look far better if the rotation was controled by a central computer and shared equally when and how often floors will be facing equally between all apartments.

On another them someone suggested the spinning would make em feel sick. Ive been on the CN tower revolving restaurant and you genuiningly dont notice the rotation as its so slow.
