dualit

Pretty damn good, we got the added bits - whisk, mixer and blender box thing - and it's been most useful. I suspect it may be undersized for some - I wouldn't fancy making soup on a regular basis with it - but for occasionally blending sauces, whisking things etc. it's been fine.

eta: This is what we got, in case there's any confusion:

oh yes, i was looking at a set with those extra attachments. I'm almost sold on it. I only ever cook for two so I don't need a huge food processor, I gave my last one away because I hardly used it and a friend needed it..... I really want it for making hummous. i dont suppose the blender box thing has a pourig hole does it, one you can pour into while it is still going that is, not one to pour out of.... I suspect I will have to buy a big one to get my much desired pouring hole

Not that I can recall - the body attaches to the top of the blender box, and I don't remember seeing a pouring hole anywhere. I'll have a look tonight.

we've got that hand blender is fab for most things but not complete replacement for food processor with big bowl. unless you want teeny quantities of houmous can't see how it would work tbh, ditto falafel and meatballs, 2 things i used to do in my big processor. still, takes up naff-all space and blends soup, baby mush etc. perfectly.

eta: no big pouring hole but kinda perforated so can drip liquids in v slowly.

i only want enough for 1/2 people so i dont think i really need a big machine.
saw a kenwood one in the shop yesterday and the bowl thing looked quite big. have heard the blades dont go close enough to the bottom so you have to scrape it in a lot....

These are about £80. Want.

i like dualit.

when my hand blender started playing up, I emailed them and even though I didn't have a receipt, they sent me a new one. i like that.

We've just got a two-slice Dualit toaster, primarily because the boyfriend is a design snob and no other toaster was going to cut it. Oh who am I kidding, I'm a design snob too.

Seems to toast pretty well so far, still trying to get used to it and how long different types of bread need to be on for, but I like the timer, means you can fine-tune, unlike our last toaster which only had a few settings.

I have a Dualit blender - great blender, makes really nice smoothies and soups. no probs so far, but have to say it's only a year old and mostly gets used in the summer - so not in everyday use by any stretch.

I have had my two slot dualit toaster for 10 years and it has never, ever gone wrong. Better yet, the enamel is mint green. I've never seen another like it. If the house was on fire, I would save my toaster. Unless, of course, burning toast was the cause of the fire.

Don't know about Dualit blenders, but I'd be wary - their brand extensions have been a bit crap. Even the new Dualit toasters are rubbish compared to the classic models.

This - The classic design toasters are excellent. I had an old one for many, many years (family hand-down, must have been 50s/60s) before I made the mistake of ditching it, only to find it was still fully repairable.

The other goods however are often not so good. I bought a Dualit kettle last year and it went back very quickly. Crap, solid but leaky and expensive crap. Got a Kenwood instead - Excellent. :)
